My mom is going through some serious s**t right now. I wrote this poem to show how much I love her. It brought her to tears infront of me and on her knees before God. I'd really appreciate it if you didn't take any of this poem. It's a wonder I'd could spell through the tears that welled in my eyes. Please respect. <3
Looking across the way when the suns not shining;
Watching her broken face as she lays there crying.
No words left to speak when you’re so close to dying,
But what’s the use of mourning what’s not worth pining?
Why do I not recognize this woman who is before me?
She’s so aged with guilt and racked with such torment;
I’m just waiting for her to break and tell me her lament.
There’s a part of her that I know but I just can’t see,
That woman that I loved and always pushed me through.
There’s something strong missing but the beauty’s there.
Why must she suffer this kind of pain? It’s just not fair!
I want to help her, but she tells me there’s nothing I can do.
I’ll never believe her when she’s telling these lies.
I’ll push through her pain when I’m sitting beside her;
I’ll let go of my life, live alone, just to reside with her.
I’ll be the one to hold her whenever she’s alone and cries,
Because her husband was always so wrong and abusive.
Why does she continue to waste such lovely tears
On a man who never loved her and brought about her fears?
All the pain caused her to crumble, to be so intrusive.
I’ve only ever wanted what was best for her can’t you tell?
Why are you taking me away from my true place?
Can’t you see she needs me? It’s all over her face!
Why condemn me in his house and damn me to a personal hell!?
