Good Morning! And when I say it, I mean it. Slept like a... rock, and now I'm feeling dandy as a daffodil. Well, except that it's sunny, which hurts my eyes. Wish it was snowing.
I always loved watching it fall, waltzing around in the air, everything frosted white. The sky is caught in twilight even at 3:00 AM, because sunlight reflected off the snow keeps it bright. I remember sneaking downstairs one night when I was eight, because apparently, I couldn't see it well enough from my ginormous room. Somehow. So, I opened our huge back sliding door in the gargantuan, double skylight-ceiling'd, fireplace-toting family room situated in the house we lived in before the recession--not sure how I got it open, actually, because I also remember it frosting shut on many occassions--and I just hopped out there, barefoot. And it was ******** blizzarding. And I was freezing my little toes off. INSTEAD of going back in, I ran over to the woodpile, took an armful of snow-covered, splintering logs, and ran all the way over to the front door. Which happened to be locked. Or, at least, I thought it was. I remember grinning outwardly, and cursing inwardly, as I huddled next to the door, slowly getting covered in snow. It took me what felt like an hour, but was probably only ten minutes, to remember that it wasn't actually locked, because I'd opened it earlier to look at the snow, and had gotten it blasted in my face. And once I got back inside, I put the logs in the fireplace, lit it, and just watched the snow fall outside. Instead of going back to sleep. Somehow, I remember that night fondly. xD whutta genius you are, Snoopy. Even back then.
I wish it was raining. I won't get caught up in a huge story like last time, because I don't have one. But all in all, rainstorms are pretty. Just not sunlight. It's boring, and it gets hot outside, which makes everyone sweaty and short-tempered.
But the lullaby of water on glass, silent flashes followed by lightless drums...
I wish it was raining. I really do.
