The Memories of Cecilia
The Memories of Cecilia

Ch.1: Ceci
I could feel it all. The pain was too much for me to bear. You could hear the cries of sadness if you took one step outside. There was a huge war going outside of town and knowing that I was restricted from helping made me angry. I knew I couldn't just sit here feeling other's sadness while doing nothing, so I decided to make my move.
I rolled off my bed, stripped off my puffy dress, and pulled out my training clothes from my closet. It was a blue sleeveless shirt and a pair of blue shorts. I also took out a pair of gold colored gloves that went all the way up past the elbow and I slipped on the same colored boots.
"Oh, I can't forget these!" I said to myself.
On my side table were my spell books and my amulet, Ryou. I grabbed my backpack and shoved the ancient books in and I put my amulet on. As I ran out the door, I grabbed my goggles and put them on my head.
I ran towards the Azure Mountains, which was where the battle was taking place.
"Lady Kotone, we've spotted movement coming towards the mountains," one of the look-outs informed the queen.
"Let me see," Lady Kotone commanded.
Hidden in the mountains was a look-out team that tracked every move that was near the border of Alvarana. Lady Kotone took a pair of binoculars and spotted a moving figure running fast towards the scene of the battle.
"Who the hell is that?!" she said.
Lady Kotone took a closer look at the person.
"Oh my god!" she gasped. “I told the damned girl not to go! Move! I have to go!"
She jumped from the hiding spot.
"Wait Lady Kotone! You might get captured by the enemy!" her body guard told her.
Lady Kotone was already running down the mountain side swiftly. She was right behind me and she grabbed the back of my shirt.
"What the heck do you think your doing?!" she demanded.
"I'm going to help fight! I can't stand being locked in my room! You taught me how to sense other's feelings and all I can sense is pain! It's all because of this stupid war that I keep feeling other's pain, so I decided to end this as quickly as possible!" "Well that's a stupid idea!" she said. "Once the enemy sees you they're going to take you away. You're the only one who knows the secrets of the Mana Seed and you know that's what they're after!"
"Wait, shh," I whispered. "Can you feel the rumbling?"
Lady Kotone closed her eyes. I could tell she could sense it now.
"It's coming here!" she yelled.
We jumped out of the way and a giant spike shot up from the mountain. The Stone Spike spell, and a powerful one, I thought to myself. I could feel more rumbling beneath my feet. The spell was aimed towards me. I jumped backwards as a stone spike grew right in front of me. Many more were coming after me and I kept jumping backwards.
"Use we Ryou!" Lady Kotone shouted.
"Oh, right," I nodded. I pulled my amulet off and held it front of me. "Ryou! Come to my hand!"
Blinding white light came from the amulet and it transformed into a long sword. The power of this sword depended on how strong the user's heart was. One who has a weak heart couldn't even cut paper with this sword, but if you have a strong heart you could make this sword cut through the thickest of stone.
More stones shot up from the snow. Every time a stone spike would appear, I would jump and cut it in half.
"Come on!" Lady Kotone yelled.
We started running towards Oringake Valley. The stones stopped chasing us when we got to the valley.
"Come here!" Lady Kotone demanded.
I walked towards her slowly. I'm in for it now, I said in my head. We were finally face to face. She opened her arms and hugged me. I could hear her sobbing and I could taste tears and bitterness from her sad feelings.
"I almost lost my one and only dear child," she said to me. "Please don't make me lose another child."
I was confused by her words. What did she mean another child? I know I've never had a brother or a sister.
"We must hide you," Lady Kotone said. "The enemy of Norad already knows you're out and if they learn how to control the Mana Seed, who knows what will happen."
"But how will we do that?" I asked.
Lady Kotone bit her thumb and it started bleeding. She drew a certain symbol on my forehead, but I couldn't see what she wrote.
"Sleep!" she yelled.
The blood and the magic started to sink into me.
"Wait! What are you doing?!" I said.
"This is to keep everyone safe," Lady Kotone said sadly.
"You can't do... this... to," suddenly I was asleep.
"I used up most of my magic on the sleep spell," Lady Kotone was panting now. "And to keep you safe."
She wrote the Seal spell on my forehead. The blood sank in and a bubble appeared around me. Then Lady Kotone pushed the bubble down into Clover Lake. I sank down towards the lake's bottom.
"It's best if you forget your past," Lady Kotone told herself. "It's best if you don't even wake up at all."
Lady Kotone heard the crunch of leaves behind her.
She turned around and saw Noradian soldiers, "I don't care if you take me away, as long as you never find my daughter."
Lady Kotone rolled up her sleeve and wrote on her arm Fire Rain. The whole valley glowed orange and fire came from the sky.
"Good night," Lady Kotone whispered and ran from the valley.

Three-hundred years later...
"All right, I got all the supplies for our project," a happy Leonel said to himself.
He stopped walking and noticed something in Clover Lake.
"What is that," he said to himself. "Oh my god!"
Leonel dropped all his supplies and dove into the lake. He swam towards the body in the water. Leonel grabbed the person's arm and swam to the side.
"Who would dump a body in the lake?" Leonel asked himself, and then realized something. "And why aren't they wet."
He started running to town and to his friend's house. Leonel slammed the doors open.
"Huh? Oh, Leonel where are the supplies?"
"Orland, we have an even bigger problem!" Leonel said in panicked manner. "This girl was just dumped into the lake and she's stopped breathing!"
"She can't be dead?!" Orland observed the girl and felt for her pulse.
Orland noticed that the girl was not wet and that the body was ice cold, and suddenly the body grew a lot warmer.
"What just happened?" Orland said to himself.
"Orland! Look! She's breathing!" Leonel said happily. "See! See!
The girl opened her eyes. She looked around frantically.
"Don't worry, we're not going to hurt you," Leonel said gently. "My name is Leonel and this is my friend, Orland. What is your name?"
The girl just stared not doing anything.
"Don't tell me you have amnesia?" Orland said. "Can you at least say something?"
The girl looked up at Orland and smiled, "Ceci! Ceci!"
She tackled Orland and hugged him.
"Damn! She's heavy!" Orland said.
"Ha-ha! She's taken a liking to you already!" Leonel laughed.
"Aww, shut up," Orland said.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" the girl started copying Orland.
"Wait! Don't say that to others!" Orland said.
"Shut up!" the girl said to Orland.
"Uhh... Stop saying that, umm, she doesn't have a name Leonel. What should we call her?" Orland asked.
"How about her first the first two things she said, Ceci," Leonel suggested.
"I like it," Orland said to Leonel.
"How about Ceci's her nick name and her real name is Cecilia," Leonel said.
"Good enough," Orland said quickly. "Ceci! Stop saying that!"
The front door opened and Orland's dad walked in and greeted, "Hello Orland. Hello Leonel."
Ceci ran up to Orland's dad and said,” Shut up!"
"Uhh," Leonel and Orland were dumbfounded. Then Orland said, "I've got no excuse this time."
