NAME: Samantha D. Addaler ~ Nickname(s): Sam, Sam D. (But she'll never admit to ANYONE [Including her best friend Hope.] what the D stands for.) AGE: 23 GENDER: Female APPEARANCE: ~ Height: 5' 5" ~ Weight: 130lbs. ~ Hair: Naturally, Sam's hair color is a dirty blond color, but with today's modern technology, she has come across the ability to bleach her hair. After that, she dyed half of her hair jet black and left the other half bleach blond. She keeps it long, and layered. ~ Eyes: Dust blue. ~ Build: Tiny looking, but she's actually built tough. ~ Defining Marks: Guages in both ears; lip and nose piercings. This tattoo >]x[< covering her back. PERSONALITY: Sam is a real street tough chick. She had to be. Once she learned the truth about herself, she couldn't stay where she was. She knows what it takes to survive, and doesn't take crap from anyone. For the most part, she is very cold and distant from anyone who might get close to her, except for her best friend Hope. For some reason she feels that girl's pain on a level she doesn't understand - has even become to feel as though she is family, the only true family Sam has ever known. Likes: ~ Cigarettes -- "If you got 'em, smoke 'em!" ~ Hope - Her best friend for the better part of four years. Sam doesn't know how she got by without that chick, and doesn't know what she'll do if Hope ever leaves her. ~ Music - Besides Hope, hard rock/heavy metal is about all that will get her through the day. Dislikes: ~ Pop fluff music - She can't understand how anyone can. It's totally hurtful to the ears/soul as it has no substance and lacks in lyrical/melodic genus. ~ Getting close to anyone. Feelings betray you in the end, so it's always best not to have any. ~ Hope's older brother - He's such a stick in the mud. HISTORY: Samantha grew up to believe that she had been born to her father, Robert, and her mother, Margaret, in a normal family circumstance. She has no siblings, as Margaret was/is infertile and Sammy was supposed to be their miracle child born out of prayer and faith. An empty feeling in the pit of her stomach, the young girl knew that something wasn't right from day one - she just didn't connect with her parents or the rest of her family. They just seemed so... normal, and she just didn't fit in with that normality. It wasn't until around the age of fourteen that she discovered the truth. Robert and Margaret were not her real parents. As her adoptive care-givers explained, her real mother had been a young girl who had lost her way in the eyes of the lord, and had sinned. Scared and confused after becoming pregnant, she had given birth to her first child and left it in a dumpster on one cold winter's night. Luckily, someone who had been passing by had discovered the child and brought it to authorities who had taken it to a local orphanage. Not long after, Rob and Maggie adopted the baby girl and named her Samantha. Although she had somehow always known she didn't belong, the news still devastated Sam. She went through a long period of depression, from which she finally decided she did not belong living with the people she once called "Mom" and "Dad". Leaving everything behind her, the young teen decided upon a life on the streets. She joined a gang, used her body to earn money, got into drug trafficking, and played people out of their money in card games and pool. She did what she had to in order to survive. All the while she trusted no one. Turned to nobody for help or comfort, only took her own word as being true. Some may have seen her as spoiled, but she just didn't feel right in the life she had once known. At some point during all of this, Sam picked up a guitar and started to learn to play. The music produced from her fingers calmed her and gave her some meaning. She took it as a sign and practiced until she was good enough to go professional, but her current life continued to call her back. Just before turning sixteen, she met her best friend Hope. The instant she spotted the girl who was heading home from school, Sam became attached. The girl was perfect, beautiful, clean. The angel Sam had never been, nor would ever come to be. Sam loved her more then words could explain, despite the fact that they had never once met. About a month after Hope's sixteenth birthday, the young girl was raped by a man carrying HIV. It drastically changed her, and it affected Sam as well, as she believes she was half the reason the girl had gone through the ordeal. In her own way of atoning for her actions, she vowed to keep the girl safe from everything else in life which might hurt her. This promise led her to finally approach her now best friend. EXTRA: Sam's mode of transportation: >]x[< Sam's guitar: >]x[< Sam's apartment layout: >]x[< (Now keep in mind it's really run down and small, and is one up from sleeping in a dark alley.)DISCLAIMER: Aside from the picture [which yes, I agree I do not own], I claim and copyright all information and creative genius to which this character was born.
