The Digital Citadel is fully operational. I could activate part of the Pixelsmith tower, but to my surprise the Kiehans - creatures natural of my pocket world - were already out of it. I remember to have not left a single one of then behind when I last left Gaia, but there are plenty of then around here. One even adopted a stray dog. The poor thing is so beaten and brused that even after being cared by the Kiehan and getting very healthy, it will always look beaten and partially furless. Peculiarities of my home.
Gaians always remains an interesting subject. One came to me while walking in the marketplace, trying to sell me this device he got from space, called TDHP. The boy demonstrated to me, asking me for gold. It was a great deal after all. The TDHP Device have the power to open two portals and connect then from far. Interesting enough, it might help me to understand the subspacial physics of Gaia in order to both find a way out of here and surpressing my actual need to move fast between great distances. It actually calls my attention to what may be happening in the space outside of the planet Gaia.
Back of the subject began on my previous journal - the Gaian species - I mentioned that one of their greatest abitilities as a species is the natural biological capacity to accept drastic structural and metabolic changes. In other terms, every Gaian is a shapeshifter to certain degree.
It is not that they can change into different shapes or types by a singular trigger - like traditional shapeshifers as the Werewolf and youkais - by Gaians can pass through an agressive process to change its body completely with ease, and not only they change with 100% of sucess and adaptability, the risk those process represents to then is zero. This gives then the ability to become any kind of creature, as long as they can find a proper process to make it happen.
The quantities of body altering process are numerous in results, but the methods for those alterations can be numbered and studied. So far, I have found the following:
Biological Agents: Activated by ingestion. Those itens are consumed and have a semi-permanent effect. The Gaian natural race becomes the one conditioned by the agent, and even if it wears overlaying or composed skins, anything that may cause those to dispel will return the Gaian back to the race of the previously ingested bio-agent. The most common races among Gaians comes from this method;
Residual Agents: Those agents are activated by unique events that takes place in Gaia. Those events affect the Gaians, changing their natural races into something else. Most of the Gaians that find thenselves affected by this power never use another Agent in their lifes, because those events never happen twice, and no one will ever have a chance to turn into that race ever again. The most notorious case in this category are the Grunnies, the second type of zombies races.
Overlaying Skin: Activated by a focus, or item. It is, for a lack of proper definition, a method that "dresses" the Gaian with a new race. This takes imeditate effect, but oposed to the bio-agents, it can be turned off as easily it is turned on. Plenty of Gaians make use of those skins to become anything they find appropriate for the moment, mostly for fashion reasons. The races born from this process are rare and form a minority of individuals.
Composed Skin: It is actually and evolved concept over the Overlaying Skin. With the addition of another itens, and skin can make a Gaian turn into a totally different race. Those itens can be energy-infused items or simply fashion accesories, but once combined, they result in the change of a Overlaying Skin into something unique. The resulting races from this method are countless, and mosly reflects an unique racial trait to isolated cases - like myself.
I will take proper note of each race in the incoming entries of this journal. Right now, I am extremely curious of how far this TDHP Device can connect the two portals. I find very exciting the possibilities that lies on this device. Also, the prospect of exploring space may lead to new discoveries around the Gaia's mysteries.
In any case, if the experiment works, I have to get a vehicle ready. And I have just the perfect vessel for this mission...
