Have you ever been to a slow profile and wondered... WTF?!?
Most of the time... this is because there's just too much crap. A few dozen Flash/media SWFs, a few dozen images, a few captions, lots of wishlisted items, etc. There's a lot of stuff in profiles.
I'm cleaning up profiles. I'm not changing any HTML so your themes won't break. I'm removing bad/images. There's gonk gonk gonk a couple MILLION gonk gonk gonk bad image URLs gonk gonk gonk in profiles right now and every one of them slows down the site. Some users even put URLs to profile pages in profile IMGs gonk
I'm deleting images by the dozen. I'm starting with URLs that point to bad servers. I'm also getting URLs that don't point to images. Lastly, I'm cleaning up images that return a "404" (like the ubiquitous ""this image or video has been moved or deleted" Photobucket image placeholder).
Please help my personal (and early) "spring clean-a-thon" by editing your profile and making sure all of the theme images and decoration pictures still work. If they don't, please delete them or update the URLs.
