"You don't have to do this!" I yelled as the copper dragon lifted Shalimar and I higher off the ground.

"Yes I do," the dragon replied. "It's in my job description."

"Then technically you should have come earlier!" I replied. "Back when I killed my other friends!"

"I am just now getting to you," the dragon replied. "You had me a little busy there with that mass murder."

"Mamma what's he gonna do?" Shalimar asked nervously.

"Nothing," I replied soothingly, brushing back Shalimar's hair. To the dragon I said, "Let her go then! She's too young!"

"Sorry, against the rules," the dragon said, opening the claw he had me in.

Screaming with Shalimar, I wrapped my body around her as the Ankle Biter Crew wrapped themselves around me to try and cushion the blow--even though we all knew that at over 10-thousand feet, none of us would survive.

Suddenly, a gold dragon flashed beneath us and caught the eight of us (myself, Shalimar, Tikki, Ikkit, Toshi, Bubba, Foxxy, and Fluffy) in a claw. As the gold dragon dove towards the ground, I heard the copper dragon roar in fustration above us--but I was more concerned with the gold dragon. Setting Shalimar, my guardians, and myself down then turning into his human form, the gold dragon turned and faced the copper dragon--who also turned into his human form.

"Their lives are forfiet, sir!" the copper dragon said, approaching.

Throwing back his hood, the gold dragon said, "Aricus, this mother and her hatchling are off limits to the rules of the copper dragons! They are the last of the blue dragons in this quarter! The mother is the queen of all blue dragons now and the hatchling is the princess!"

"L-Lord Avondale!" the copper dragon stuttered, taking a step backward. Shaking his head, the copper dragon said, "Regardless, you know the rules!"

"If you want to kill them," Lord Avondale said, taking a step forward, "you'll have to go through me."
