Beats and Treats Episode #101

Hello my name is Twilight Afternoon and welcome to my short series "Beats and Treats"I'm going to teach you fast deserts and snacks that you can make in no time. Today we will be making Oreo Truffles and Russian Teacakes. Let's get started with the Oreo Truffles.
What you will need is:

  • One Package of Cream Cheese (8 ounces)
  • One package of Oreo Cookies Finely Crushed. (About 4-4 1/2)
  • Two packages of Semi Sweet Chocolate bar, Melted.


[Prep time 30 minutes]


  • First thing to do is crush the oreos. The best way to crush them is placing them in a bag and beat them with a rolling pan or meat tenderizer. They need to be semi crushed to a powder. It a great stress relieve.
  • Now that the oreos are crushed you are going to take a cup of the oreos and place it aside. Those will be used later as decor.
  • Next step is to take out the cream cheese and cut the cheese into small squares. This will help you out when you blend the oreos and cream cheese which is your next step.
  • Empty the bag of crushed oreos into a large bowl along with the cream cheese squares. Your are going to you use a mixer and blend them till the mix is not so clumpy but not extremely smooth.
  • Cause what you are going to do next is take a small spoonful of the mixer and shape them in a ball. The mixer should make a total of 48 ball shape truffles. You may get more or less then that but is fine.
  • Now for the chocolate. You are going to need to melt it. There are two ways you can go at it. double boil method or the microwave method. Either way is fine. The chocolate will be extremely hot so you need to work quickly before it cools down.
  • Dip the ball into the melted chocolate and place them on a wax sheet. This will get messy. So be careful to not get your fingers cover in a lot of chocolate.
  • After the 48 [approx.] are cover in chocolate sprinkle the cup of oreos that you had saved earlier and sprinkle them on the truffles.
  • Take the tray of Truffles and place them in the refrigerator for about an hour or until they are firm. You can tell when they are ready when you can pick them up and the shell of the truffle is hard.
