What are heroes and what determines an action heroic? Everyone has the choice to be good, or to be bad. Everyone has a chance to be a hero. Defined by multiple dictionaries, a hero is a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability. But, what is strength and what is ability? Is a hero intelligent, physically strong, and runs faster than the speed of light, or is a hero a person who has always been there in the toughest times to hold you as you limp through hard times? Heroes should not be labeled singularly to fictional characters such as Superman or Captan America. Neither should a hero be someone who is there to help for their own benefit. As much as we'd like to believe, most heroes look like regular everyday people. So, when you walk down the halls of school, or down the sidewalks of your town, look for your Joe Smith's, or your John Brown's, not Superman.
