Sera's Public Journal
If you don't like it, don't comment on it. I might vent or rant. I'm not immune to certain stresses, and this doesn't really help. You CAN NOT and WILL NOT hold me responsible if you're a subject of this journal. Cmon, it's not like anyone will know.
Hell's Plane Flight and 1st Day. Aloha from Maui!
Well, yesterday night I dreamt one of the dreams meant for my Mom, where she tries to get somewhere and it never happens. I dreamt that we were taking a cab to the airport and our driver was a nut, and that we never actually made it. I woke up. I got on the computer for a little bit, made some adjustments while packing, then we took the cab to the airport. I felt really sorry for leaving Annie at home, but it's best. She won't like the trip, and I'm sure Daniel will take good care of her.

I was so nervous going through security because I hadn't in such a long time. It wasn't so bad. We bought some sourdough bread as comfort food (And forgot bubblegum for the altitude adjustment.), and boarded. The next 6 hours were hell in air. We were delayed an hour by mechanical issues. Some people's brats just wouldn't shut up, other people were reclining, others were sneezing into open air. To top it off, my head was killing me a few hours in, reclining didn't help, and everyone was REALLY loud. My plushies didn't help, and the pillow I had didn't help, either. By the time we landed, my head felt like one of those cheap Irwin Sailor Moon Dolls, almost ready to pop off!

We got out, rented a car... My first impression of Maui since the last time we came was better than the impression I first got when we went to Kona on the big island. Nothing eventful, except that there were wild chickens next to the car lot. We drove from Kahului to Kihei, and to Mana Kai hotel. We got to our hotel, settled down... It's right next to the beach, there's a pool, and the water was just so inviting, I wanted to run right out of the car and just jump for it! But I didn't. We got up to our rooms, unpacked. I got to wash my face, which was a relief. We settled down for a bit, then went out to dinner at this nice little Mediterranean cuisine place in one of the MANY shopping malls that dot the coast, called Pita Paradise. I couldn't eat anything there, though. The service was anything but nice, and they refused to serve raw pita bread, and only served GRILLED pita bread. YUCK.

My parents felt sorry for me because I hadn't eaten anything but bread and apple juice and water up until that point. We went to the Food Mart that was at that same shopping mall. We got cheese, crackers, poptarts, muffins, milk, this excellent drink called Pog made from Papayas, Oranges, and Guavas (Thus the name.) and I had bread and cheese for dinner, and cookies for dessert. Then I was just too tired and I just crawled into bed. I didn't really need any blankets it was so warm, so I just used my cloak. (You know :iconelizamoonchild:, the one that looks like Vincent's.) I was so so tired, it felt like the floor was about to drop out from under me any second.

That concluded the day.

The first day brought much promise. I somehow slipped into dream and dreamt that GlaDos was producing Sailor Moon toys for some odd reason, and she was Purple. When I woke up around 7 , I had breakfast, and we went down to the beach for a nice stroll. Walked for 1.2 miles, collecting shells and coral along the way. I found a sea urchin needle and shells that were in some nice colors, and funny shapes. Went for a dip, we stayed out until 11. I was already sunburned, and by the end of the day it turned into a tuxedo cat's patch on my chest, roasted arms and upper thighs, and burned tops of my feet. I'm going to be feeling the rocking of the ocean in my back and legs forever, if not for a long time. I was so careful to apply enough sunscreen, too!

We had lunch, then Dad went to watch the hockey game in the bar while we went shopping. Farmer's market was our first stop, got some jam and tomatoes and an avocado. Next, Hilo Hattie's. I got myself a free Sarong and a coupon for a 40% discount PEARL, at 9 bucks. Now, when the last time we went to Hawaii was, we got the same thing. But we never got a pearl because my parents took too long to decide and by the time they decided the pearls were away for the night and the shop was closing. And I NEVER let them forget it, I was so so cross. But I paid for it, I picked out the ugliest oyster... And within, was a PINK pearl. It was a rare chance. (If I have any money left at the end of the trip, I will buy myself a little silver cage on a chain to put the pearl in, so I can wear it and remember.) Bought that, a necklace for someone I love, earrings, a nice red and black hair clip in the shape of a plumeria flower. (I think these are now one of my favorite flowers other than roses.) Also got a very pretty black dress with purple plumeria flowers on it.

We looked around at Crazy Shirt, went to this nice little Quilting Shop, then got some Gelato. Never had it before, it was like yogurt but a bit thicker and VERY good. We went back to the hotel, went back to the beach and swam one last time that day. Read some more of Catching Fire in The Hunger Games Trilogy. Went upstairs, took a nice long shower, then went to dinner at Peggy Sue's, this nice retro little diner in the same immediate area as the Gelato and Quilting Shop. We got back, and now I'm writing this journal at 8:38 Maui time. It's 2 hours behind, and it still REALLY does feel like 10:38. I haven't had as much jetlag as I did when we went to New York, though, so it's all good.

Imma go read some more, knit, mabye watch a little TV, get some more well earned sleep.

Aloha,

-Sera
