Arc of Paradise Chapter 1.

Welcome to the year 2068. It is the future, though not as advanced as people had hoped. War has not been seen in over fifty years. Though, peace has not broke out upon the globe. Cities in ruin, people homeless, death toll's in the hundred-thousands. The U.N. is trying it's hardest to fix it all. There has been a central building for the U.N. called the "Arc". It is a meeting place, on an island named Paradise. It is here that those in need get the help they deserve. But suddenly, at 7:02 PM on Wednesday, July 24th, everything in the Arc, and the island Paradise, has gone dark. Power around the world has gone out. The computers handling the power use has gone corrupt, and crashed. The world is thrown into chaos.

"People, PEOPLE PLEASE! Calm down. I'm sure the back-up generators will be on in a few-" The speaker was silenced, as the lights came back on.
"See? I was right. No need to fret." He said as calm as can be.
"Sir, why are you not frightened? The power...I was told when I came here, no one could attack this place? What does this mean?" The representative of France asked aloud.
"Now, Miss Bellvue, there is nothing to worry. The power is back, and we can continue." He simply replied.
"But sir! Surely this attack...must confuse you? Worry you, at least in the slightest?" The Russian Czar asked.
"Settle down Boris. No need to worry. I'm sure the refrigerator will keep your vodka cool."
"This is no time for jokes. I, and everyone else here was told the Arc was full proof. Now, Mister Foley, we want an explanation for this!"
"...I am sorry. I do not have one. I too, was told it is foolproof, but I do not know what happened. It was probably a surge. This cant possibly be an attack on-" Suddenly, agents of each government went to each representative, and gave them all the same news.
"The power is out in the entire nation. No cause can be concluded yet." The U.N. went into an uproar.

ChessKing: Yes. It worked. Power out everywhere.
CipherMind: I told you. My coding is ALWAYS fool proof. No need to doubt me.
ChessKing: I didn't man. It's cool. Good thing we have these back up generators.
CipherMind: I know. Hey, when will we have The Oracle set up?
ChessKing: Give it a few days. Once it's up, i'll call you. We can set up there.
CipherMind: Alright. You sure?
ChessKing: Positive. I'm gonna go sleep. You should too.

Early the next day, a message went out across the world, from the head of the U.N.
"People. Do not fear. Power is steadily being returned. Go back to your normal lives. Keep it normal. Do not lose faith. Trust your neighbor. In a time of crisis like this, be strong. We may be different nations, but we are ONE people." It calmed most people, but some where unnerved. After a week, power was restored to most major areas, and the cause had been confirmed. A note went out to all military, police, and government branches giving a small, un-detailed report.

As you may know, we suffered a power outage a week ago. The cause of this was a terrorist attack, hacking the terminal controlling the power output to the globe. It was shut down, but reset, and a connection was reestablished. All is fine now. There is absolutely no cause for worry. Stay calm, and keep to your duties. Let no civilian know of this. - United Nations Embassy.

The hackers could not be traced. They hid themselves behind multiple proxies, and then, when finally broken into, only led the pursuers in a circle. One man even hacked his own PC, thinking it was the terrorist's. He was fired. The U.N. discussed what to do for days. Eventually, it was established that six powers would come, and send a person from each nation. These people would help in the case.
United States.
Russia.
Australia.
Japan.
Afghanistan.
Southern Africa.
Each would represent part of the globe, and help in anyway possible. The six people were picked based upon IQ, effort in school, success rate, ability, job history, and over-all importance. They were-
Alexander Devlin- U.S.A.
Ivan Marxcosis- Russia.
Kojima Hideke- Japan.
Sarah Oslough- Australia
Ali Saif Khaivar- Afghanistan
John Bekham- Southern Africa.
None of them were similar, and none were different. Each one was a genius, but couldn't find the answers when they lay in front of them. They were given a section of the Arc for them and the investigation. They were the ones to solve it.

CipherMind: I love this. The system is running so smooth.
ChessKing: I told you. The Oracle is a beaut. She'll be our base of operations.
CipherMind: Nice. So, the test phase has finished. When do we start?
ChessKing: Not yet man. Wait a little. I wanna do this as much as you. About a week.
CipherMind: Okay. I can do that. You sure they cant catch us?
ChessKing: Only if we want them to.
CipherMind: Okay. I trust you.
ChessKing: Alright. Well, lets sleep. We need to make sure everything is ready.
CipherMind: Okay.
