To avoid detection, the group had relocated to a mansion where it seemed the majority of Gaia had gathered for a Halloween Ball. As werewolves and humans were fighting below, the group were sitting up in the rafters where Araruz, Varda, and Nate attempted to explain to young Dragon what was going on.
After a few moments, Dragon raised a hand and said, "Stop, stop, stop. I get what you're trying to say. I honestly don't believe you but at the moment I haven't a choice. If what you say is true, we are going to need some help."
"No you are not bringing either of them here," Alriz said. "At your age, you're not strong enough to control either of them--that's why I taught Lord Avondale the spell that separated the three of you until you were powerful enough to control your sisters. We need others. If we can sneak back to the house, even to see if we can reassmble Nissa."
"Nissa?" Dragon asked. "What happened to Nissa?"
"It's a bit of a long story," Varda said. Glancing down at the fighting below, she said, "Did we get word to the others where we were?"
Following Varda's line of sight, Nate grinned. "No we haven't! That's Wynn!"
Covering Nate's mouth as he was about to yell down to her, Ette said, "Don't attract attention stupid. She's spotted us anyway."
As Wynn shot a beam of energy in a arc in front of her to clear out the hall, the young Dragon said, "That came from the neko's hand. Nekos cannot use lasers like that without augmentation. You expect me to trust a neko that can fire lasers from it's hand?"
"She's not just a neko," Alriz said. "She's half green dragon."
As Wynn jumped up to the rafters next to them, the young Dragon said, "You expect me to trust a halfbreed freak of nature?"
"Excuse me?" Wynn asked, looking at the young Dragon.
"Clean your ears halfbreed," the young Dragon said. "I called you a freak. Do you have a problem with that?"
"I just might," Wynn said, turning to face the young Dragon. When Varden yanked on her hand to whisper in her ear [1], Wynn's eyes widened for a second. "You know what, children like you are not worth my time."
"Oh I'll MAKE it worth your time," the young Dragon said, summoning a pair of baseball bats. [2]
Placing a hand on the young Dragon's shoulder, Alriz said, "Peace, my young friend. We have more pressing matters at hand than the two of you beating each other to a pulp."
"Point," the young Dragon said. Pointing at Wynn with the tip of one of her bats, she said, "We're not done, you and I."
"Wynn," Ette said, tentatively running a hand over Wynn's skin. "What happened to you? After...you know...hurt Shalimar?"
"I'll only explain that to Shal," Wynn said gruffly, pulling away from Ette. "For now, can someone explain what the hell is going on?"
As the others were explaining to Wynn the events thus far, the young Dragon quietly snuck away. She had kept the bats at the ready for the random wolf or human that had dared to attack her and had actually had to use it a few times.
Finding herself in a werewolf ambush, the young Dragon found herself being pushed into a corner. Swearing under her breath, she was surprised when a door next to her flew open and something flashed out to attack the werewolves. Dimly aware of another man running out of the door with a puffed up gray cat on his head, the young Dragon cracked a grin.
Wordlessly, the two stood back to back and fought off wave after wave of werewolves. After several minutes, a lull came where the two could rest a bit. Turning, the man looked down at Dragon and grinned. "You fight well."
Spotting the vampire teeth but choosing to ignore them, she said, "As do you. Call me Dragon."
Bowing with a flourish, the man said, "And you may call me Louie."
