They call me A.J., Alex.

Age and Year Group: Seventeen and Year 13

Sexuality: Straight

Storytime:

Background
When Alexandra was 8 years old, her mother died from a severe case of influenza. It had attacked and destroyed her mother's immune system so suddenly, there was no hope of survival. Her father, who had been at that time an accountant, took up a second job to pay for the medical bills, and Alexandra's care. He filed and financially calculated for a men's trouser shop. Alexandra took pride in her father's attempt to care for her, but it left her feeling nothing more than a burden.

She began pen-palling with her uncle, a much wealthier entrepreneur, known on her mother's side. He very warily understood the situation, being very near and dear to his sister. Her uncle agreed to house her, and take care of her. When she presented this proposal to her father, he was distraught. Though he longed to keep her near, it was easier for them both to spend some time apart, until her father could get back on his feet. It was bitter-sweet to have to leave her father. She knew that he wanted what was best for her, and she wanted him to have an easier way of paying what was left. Alexandra had spent nearly over a year with her uncle, now and then again messaging her father, who had a horrible way with technology, before she received a distressful letter. Her father had been in a car accident, killing him and the passenger along side him.

The will, small and simple, simply stated that in the case of his early departure, Alexandra was to live with the uncle she currently resided with, and that she gained all his possessions. Alexandra mourned her father for a long time. His possessions gave her many memories, and though they hurt, she dared not part with them. The greatest possessions she held were small, but meaningful. The first, a necklace. A thin, golden cord, which held a small, silver heart. It was a gift her father had given to her mother the day of their marriage. The other, a ring. A silver ring, crested with a diamond flower. This was the ring her father had given her for her ninth birthday; it had belonged to her mother as well. It's been seven years since the loss of her father, but she still carries these possessions with her today. These are the only possessions of her father and mother that she carried with her to Greenfield, the school where her uncle has now sent her to. Alexandra is smart enough and more than capable to attend the school. It's a matter of if her heart can truly handle it.

Personality
A.J. is generally a quiet person, unless you honestly get to know her. A.J. is hard to pry, but if you can get her to open up to you, you discover a funny, young, and very talented girl. Bring her a bouquet of flowers, and she'll think you sweet. Bring her a book on astrological figures of the night-time sky, that she hasn't read, and she'll think you care. Like her father, A.J. is smart. She can crunch numbers, and do the work, but she'd rather be outside, barefoot, staring at the stars.

Unlike a lot of girls, dancing and singing aren't her passion. Quite the irony given the famous band that resides in the school she attends. If you pay attention, you'll notice she always has a drawing pad, and dangling from that, a small notebook, which holds a pencil. This is because at any given moment, she can feel inspiration. If she sees a tree that sways just perfectly, she might sit down and write in her notebook about it. If she sees a pebble that flicks sunlight off of it in just the right way, she might plop down and sketch it. She's constantly thinking, constantly wrapping her mind around how the world works. She'd give up attending a dance with the cutest boy in town, if it meant she could be in the middle of a field during a meteor shower.

All in all, A.J. mostly keeps to herself. She'll converse when necessary, and speak when spoken to, but as far as sparking up a conversation, her skills leave something to be desired. Finding a boy who will understand her concept of life is something she is not expecting to do, so she's extremely capable of dodging and entirely missing flirt-rays. But whether she'll admit it or not, she does wants a friend. So if you don't find her in her dorm at night, grab a flashlight and hit the outdoors, and join her for a look. You'll get her attention.
