after a long journey through spira, the eight finally defeated sin. two of the guardians departed, and for the next two years the other six lived peacefully. before auron, one of the two that left, was sent by the summoner, he told his daughter Ann to travel to the mist village to seek out her uncle when she felt ready to move on. that day came when Yuna came back home to besaid after running away. Ann was able to say goodbye to everyone (except to kimahri who was back living in mount gagazett as elder ronso)

after a few days of being on the ship, she landed in the mist. the village seemed to be empty, but she noticed a crowd gathering and moving to the edge. she followed them part way, then borrowed a boat to the end of the bridge and found a ship leaving and dozens of men jumping into the body of water below. when she got near, she climbed up the rope that was left behind and saw several bodies lying dead and blood everywhere. as she walked toward the standing figures, she passed two ninjas side by side. Ann walked up to a silver haired man
Ann~sir, where am I?
kakashi~in the mist village. where did you come from?
Ann~far away. do you know where I can find a man named zabuza?
he and his team looked down and kicked the ground a bit
kakashi~w-why would you be looking for him?
Ann~my father told me to search for him if I ever felt ready to leave the place where I grew up. he told me that they used to live in the mist village. zabuza is my uncle
kakashi sighed heavily and rubbed his temples
kakashi~I'm sorry...we fought him...and just moments before you came he passed away...you passed his body...
she looked back and took a good look him and his partner
Ann~I should have recognized...he looks a lot like mom...
she grabbed his sword that was a few feet from her
Ann~was this his?
naruto~yeah. where will you go next?
Ann~I...don't know...I only just arrived here...
Ravi~sensei?
kakashi~come stay with us. we'll see how you'll fit in
Ann~what do you mean?
Sakura~to put it frankly, what you'll be good for
she nodded and followed their instructions, taking zabuza's sword with her with ease

later that night Ann ate with them
naruto~so what kind of place do you come from? your clothes aren't anything I've seen
Ann~a holy land that used to be ravaged by an entity for a thousand years. two years ago I helped defeat it bringing the eternal calm
naruto~and how old are you?
kakashi~naruto you don't just ask a woman how old she is...
Ann~I'll be thirteen in October
sasuke~you're as old as us...and you helped defeat something that attacked your home for so long?
Sakura~explains why you can carry the sword....
Ravi~wait, so that means you can fight!
Ann~my father was a warrior monk and my mother was a ninja. of course I can fight, it's in my blood
naruto~wait aren't monks supposed to be pacifists?
Ann~well they need someone to protect the temples
Sakura~so you're religious?
Ann~I never believed in the teachings to begin with. I just wanted to fight. anyways, something kept me from believing that the teachings of yevon were completely honest
kakashi~yevon huh? I think our village would like to learn from you if you won't mind
Ann~sure. I happen to enjoy traveling
Ravi~do you think people will know you? I mean you did just say you helped bring the eternal calm, whatever that is
Ann~I doubt. but even if I was it would only be because of my parents
kakashi~I know we've been asking a lot of questions, but can you tell me your parents' full name?
Ann~ane momochi and auron maboroshi
kakashi stared at her and the other four looked at him expectantly
kakashi~I didn't expect you to be that directly related to zabuza...
naruto~who are they sensei?!
kakashi~ane is zabuza's older sister. she was the most powerful shinobi to have ever lived. she was known everywhere and was feared by all
sasuke~and auron?
Ann~that's sir auron to you. unless you knew him like I did you can't act all familiar with him
kakashi~sir auron was they best samurai in the mist. a legend to others in the same practice and a man not to be taken lightly even if you are a skilled shinobi. 
Sakura~ummm...maboroshi means dream right? does that have any significance?
kakashi~it's a clan that was thought to be extinct
Ann~why thought?
kakashi~no one knew that your parents had a child. 
Ann~oh...what's so special about being in a clan though? isn't it just prestige and money?
sasuke~clans here have a kekkei genkai that can only be found in their blood. can't really have money unless you have power right?
Ann~I guess that's true. but what's so special about my family?
kakashi~they say that maboroshis are able to exercise the deceased and can bring them back to life
naruto~so a zombie basically?
kakashi~they are not witch doctors naruto
Ann~back home a deceased can come back to life if they have a strong feeling that keeps them from moving to the far plain. and it can happen to anyone, especially those with ill intent or ill feelings
naruto~what's the difference?
Sakura~Ill intent means that you want to do something bad. ill feelings is that you felt something bad
Ravi~did you experience that first hand?
Ann~my father was one actually. his death was tragic and vein for trying to avenge his friends. but it also helped him keep a promise or two. I visit him in the far plain whenever i can

over the next week, kakashi had sparred with Ann to see her strengths as the bridge was being completed. as they headed back to the leaf after it was completed, Ann took out a sphere and started recording
Sakura~what's that?
Ann~a sphere. I thought I'd record my travels and show those back home when I go back
Ravi~how does that work? and isn't a sphere supposed to be like a ball?
Ann~I'm not entirely sure, but it's just called a sphere. some are like ball though
naruto~hey Ann, just how well can you fight?
Ann~well enough. I'm pretty sure kakashi held back but it wasn't that bad
naruto~what?!
kakashi~actually you have a good amount of stamina. so I was pushing my limit a bit before I had us stop
Ann~is that uncommon? we hardly rested as we traveled the pilgrimage. we'd fight and continue on. we stopped for the night if we've been traveling all day, bad weather, or we might stop earlier if we had to fight a strong fiend that took up a lot of our inventory. 
sasuke~you have an interesting world if that's what a child did
Ann~I'm not the youngest guardian. one had his two brothers accompany him. pacce was about five or so. 
Sakura~why was?
Ann~I made the journey two years ago. so I was ten when we left our island to gain the final aeon
kakashi~you're very knowledgeable and speak like a scholar
Ann~that's good. I have always been afraid of picking up the more common accent on the village
Ravi~how does that sound?
Ann~I'm not sure I can imitate it very well if I forced it out. you might end up hearing it if you catch me during an outburst. umm but it sounds a little like...hey you strong ya? brutha come over for dinner ya?
kakashi~must've been a small island huh?
Ann~you've heard of that accent?
kakashi~I've had my share of travels. and I tend to hear that among the smaller islands and small villages near the beach
Ann~I think I'll feel at home easily here then

when they got to the village, kakashi dismissed the four and had Ann follow him to the hokage's office
kakashi~I don't think you need to worry about manners. you're very polite compared to the other four
Ann~hehehe is that so?
inside the missions office, kakashi greeted the hokage
kakashi~lord hokage, team 7 has successfully completed the mission
sarutobi~who is your friend? hmmm? ane?
Ann stepped out from behind kakashi and bowed as she would have in spira
Ann~no sir. she is my mother. I am lady annaliesalayoshi maboroshi. most either refer to me by lady Ann or Ann
sarutobi~the maboroshi clan? were you with sir auron in spira?
Ann~more or less sir. I was told that he was my father, but I never grew up knowing him. I didn't get to see him until I started the pilgrimage with my lady summoner
sarutobi~have you ever seen him in your dreams?
Ann~how do you know about that?
sarutobi~it's part of the maboroshi clan. they tend to see close relatives in their dreams and even a few close friends if they have passed away. 
Ann~how do you know so much about my dreams?
sarutobi~being an old man has its ups and downs. anyways that's just some general dreams. iruka would you bring izumo and kotetsu to accommodate lady Ann while she stays in the village?
iruka~yes lord hokage
sarutobi~kakashi go ahead and take the next few days off to recuperate from this past mission
kakashi bowed and left 
Ann~being the leader must have its perks. do you lead only this city or do you lead neighboring areas as well?
sarutobi~we are a village. and yes I only lead this nation. 
Ann~this a big village. back home an area this large is already a city
sarutobi~come sit here while we wait for the three ninjas to come back. you are a very interesting girl
Ann~this world is interesting. since I came here, I've felt unnaturally weaker
sarutobi~how so?
Ann~I used to be able to cast magic, but now I can barely even cast one of my weakest spells.  
sarutobi~have you felt an aura emanate from your body when you have a strong emotional burst or when you put your all into one attack?
Ann~yes actually...why?
sarutobi~you just might have the potential to become a ninja during your stay here. that is if you're willing to learn
Ann~gladly. I don't think I'll really be able to travel to other nations will I?
sarutobi~you probably will be able to. the tricky part of traveling is getting into the other nations and learning their techniques, if you plan on training with them
Ann~oh that's all right. if I see something I like I just want to look at it for a while
