Leo's Point of View

Leo slowly opened his eyes, squinting in the darkness. He looked at the clock. 5:18 am. He yawned, stretched his arms and legs, and got out of bed. He looked at Lea, she was still sleeping. As always. He was always the one who woke up first, and it was his responsibility to wake her up, because if he didn't, she would wake up at lunch time, more or less.

But since it was still too early, he decided to take a bath first before waking her up. After 10 minutes or so in the bathroom, he then dried himself off and put on his uniform. He went back to their room and tapped her arm. "Lea, wake up, it's almost 6 am." No luck. He tapped harder. "Lea!" ... He groaned, and tickled her feet. "HYAH!!" Lea screamed and kicked his face. "OW! WHAT THE F***!" Lea's eyes widened. "Oh crap, sorry Leo. I told you not to wake me up by tickling me," she said, pouting. "Tss. You kick me in the face and still have the nerve to scold me. Be thankful I'm even waking you up or else you would always be late to school," he said, and went out of the room.

It was that day when he decided to start giving her the cold shoulder. He thought he would have a hard time doing it, but he was wrong. Much to his surprise, he was good at brushing her off. Doesn't mean he's enjoying it. He didn't want to do this, and he knew it was somehow a selfish act, but he needed to. Or at least, felt like he did.

- Flashback -

It was night time, Leo was doing his math homework when Lea entered their room, with a big smile on her face. "Hey Leo! Guess who was at the door!" she said. "Who?" he asked, still preoccupied with his homework. "It's Matt, from the other section. He gave me some chocolates," she said, then laughed, popping a small piece in her mouth. "Want some?" she asked, and popped another chocolate ball in her mouth. He frowned. "No, stop bothering me." he said, and continued scribbling, his mind not on the homework anymore. He was pissed. These past few days all Lea talked about was how sweet Matt is, and that she has a crush on Matt, and that she thinks she has a crush on her, too. And now it's confirmed, Matt does have a crush on her too.

"Geez, what's wrong with you? Just because you don't want to tell me about your crush doesn't mean I won't tell you mine," she said, pouting. "Well I don't want to hear it, Lea. Shut it," he said, a little too harshly. He then looked at her. She was clenching the chocolate in her hand. "Fine! Whatever," she said, and stormed out of the room.

He slammed his fist on his study table. Pissed off with her. Mostly pissed off with himself.

- End of Flashback -

This feeling .. It was wrong. People aren't supposed to fall in love with their siblings, not to mention their twin.

Then why?

-- -- -- --

Lea finished getting ready. She walked out of the room. Leo was already holding a bag of food. It was their breakfast. Lea looked down. "Sorry for kicking you," she said, guilt in her voice. Leo handed her the sandwich and warm cocoa silently, and started walking towards school.

Lunch time.

"Hey Leo." He looked up from tying his shoe lace, and saw Diane, his classmate. "Lea's outside, she was asking if she could borrow your math homework because she forgot to copy it from you last night," she explained, smiling at him. "Oh. Right. That brat," he half-joked, shaking his head. He was about to stand up to give it to Lea, but Diane stopped him. "No, I'll give it to her instead," she said, still a big smile on her face. "Uh.. Okay," he said. Diane giggled, and walked towards the door, handing his homework to Lea. Lea peeked, and waved at him. He looked away.

Diane went back to him. "Hey, why are you so sad?" she asked him. "Huh?" he asked, pretending he didn't know what she was talking about. "Every time I look at you, you have that sad expression on your face. It doesn't suit you," she said, and smiled. He sighed. "Diane, stop this. I don't want to hurt you," he said, and looked outside the window again. Diane lost her smile, and looked at the floor. "I know you don't like me, Leo," she started. "But.. What if.. I tell you that.. It's fine with me if I'm just a substitute?" she asked, her eyes still on the floor. "Will you accept me?" He groaned silently. "Diane, please. I.. I don't know." He thought about it for a minute. Why not Diane instead? Why not give her a chance? Maybe he could learn to love her, then he could move on from Lea. "Think about it, okay?" she said, then walked away, that smile on her face again. He looked at her. It was as if that smile was fake. He knew he was hurting her. He sighed.
