It was a nasty habit of mine to board the train at the last possible moment. I would always make it on board just in time for the doors to close right behind me. This one particular night, I was later than usual and I missed my train entirely. I began to get upset but shortly after, another train come pulling in to the station. I wasn't aware any more trains ran this late but who was I to question my luck. I climbed on to the train and sat down. There was one other person in the car with me but she had her nose stuck in a book. I decided to do the same and pulled my own book out and began to read. I didn't notice anything strange until I realized I had gotten through a chapter in my book when normally I only got through a quarter of it. I looked up and was surprised to see daylight starting to break on the horizon. Upon further inspection I realized I didn't recognize the landscape at all.
"Where are we?" I asked out loud
"On our way to our final stop" Said a voice beside me.
I jumped, forgetting the girl was in the car.
"But we should've stopped a long time ago."
"No, I'm afraid not." The girl closed her book but didn't look up.
"You see, this train only ever makes one stop to drop off."
As the girls aid this I could feel the train start to slow down.
"Here we go" The girl said, the glee in her voice sent a chill down my spine.
Finally the train stopped and the automatic doors opened. I walked to the door and felt nauseous from the scene in front of me. We were in front of a burning field, creatures were jumping out of it like fish in water.
"This is where you belong now." Said the girl right behind me. I turned to say something but my voice caught in my throat as I stared in to her pure white eyes.
She pushed me out of the train and I fell on to the only patch of grass that hadn't been burned. Before I could even get up the doors shut and I sat helpless as my only link to sanity fled away on the rail road tracks.
