What I love about being me.
Holidays are here! I really should go Christmas shopping today, but we'll see how that goes.

Anyhow, James' visit was wonderful and we both had a lot of fun. (I hope. X3) Thanksgiving was great, but I was a bit miffed that there wasn't any cheesecake this year since it's my favorite. That and no virgin, sparkling, apple cider. But eggnog was served, and that was good too. X3

In more recent and sad news, I went to the dermatologist on thursday, two days ago, and had skin on my hip punched out and stitched, with a quarter sized piece of flesh carved out from my lower back as well. They're going to test me for skin cancer, but I hope they don't find anything... I don't know what it would mean if they did, but I'm afraid to find out.

That and my scoliosis, while only noticable if you know what to look for (as well as being an un-braceable King V pattern), is still curving, and the doctors say it's bad enough that I could request a spine operation to have it all corrected. The three curves are serious, with the middle one being over 45 degrees, and it hurts only a little, but it's painful all the time now.

The operation has a possible chance of turning me into a quadriplegic.

Not a good thing.

I'm not sure what to do except hope it won't advance any further. I don't really fancy turning into a snakey, squished diseased thing or to become completely dysfunctional from the neck down...

It was fun! ^__^ I enjoyed the trip thoroughly.

And sorry to hear about the cancer testing procedure. Love you hun, and I'd kiss your boo boos all better if I could.

Yikes on the back thing. Surgery would probably be a good idea if it progresses further. My mom's had a few surgeries on her back and spine really, though I don't remember what the reasons for some of them were.

Love you, Mia.

o.o *hugs* i hope you're alright, dear. Well, it's been a while since you wrote the post, so one hopes that no news is good news?

Scoliosis >.< Unfortunately, i know all too well what you're going through there; i've had very bad scoliosis since young, and probably will all my life. After years of wearing braces, i had a metal rod attached from the base of my neck all along my spine when i was eleven; not that it really cured my problem... but that's probably more due to my horrible posture and other health issues sweatdrop It has worked well for some people. And while my back is still curved, the curvature hasn't worsened, which it well could have without the surgery.

Any operation carries risks, and something as major as spine surgery will definitely be so. That said, perpetual back pain is definitely not a good sign... Whether you decide to go through with it or not, maybe you should consider visiting a physiotherapist? They may be able to advise you on some excercises to strengthen your back muscles which may in turn improve your body's ability to handle the scoliosis.

i'm sorry if it seems like i'm intruding or offering unwanted advice ^^; *hugs* Whatever choice you make, i wish you all the best.
