Anveni, The scythe that reaches is a parasitic object that feeds off the greed of people.
When not held by a living being, Anveni presents itself as a fist sized alabaster skull with black diamonds set in it's eye sockets and runes inlaid with jet.
It appears in areas where treasure hunters frequent when it does not have a wielder in order to find a suitable host.
Once touched, Anveni binds itself to it's host transforming from a skull to a scythe topped with said skull. The scythe then inserts it's awareness slowly into the wielder's mind and give's the wielder visions of things the wielder desires, which intensifies the greed, which in turn feeds the scythe.
As the scythe's hold (mentally not physically, the scythe's physical hold on a wielder cannot be broken without divine interference or a being with greater greed taking the scythe away) becomes greater on the wielder, some physical signs begin to show. First dark circles appear under the eyes, then splits open up in the skin revealing runes underneath, then magical energy manifests around the body nonstop, then flesh starts peeling off the face burnt from magical energy until the wielder dies and naught but a black skull is left.
After which the scythe reverts to a skull itself and appears again in a place where a greedy person is likely to find it.
While wielding the scythe, the user is immune to other magics.
