when we imagine our accomplishments
what is the real subject of the fantasy?
financial stability? the admiration of our peers? the remediation of past injustice? independence? emotional security?
decisions aren't pathways
they're vehicles
sometimes you in the pilot seat
sometimes youre riding shotgun
sometimes life rolls up to the curb and throws you in the trunk
there ain't a ride at this fun park that lasts forever
just cause you feel the wind in your hair doesn't mean your goin anywhere
