Good News, Bad News.

It was Monday morning in the AI dorms. After a long weekend Kairu woke up in his room. Kairu's cell phone began ringing. Kairu picked up his cell phone and answered.
"Hi Kairu, how was your weekend?" asked a lovely voice.
"Oh hey Fhasha." said Kairu. "Well, the first part was pretty cool. I went on a mission to save the Hidoru siblings."
"That's great, did you take on Tech Org?"
"Hell yeah. The great Kairu kicked robot but!"
"That's cool. Oh and by the way, the annual avi tournament is coming up."
"Oh really it's already here? This year I'm old enough to enter so I'm definitely going."
"That's great, I'll be cheering for you." Later that day Conren and Ravenne were in the student lounge when Kairu came in.
"Hey Kairu, over here." said Conren.
"Whassup?" said Kairu.
"Oh, just talking." said Ravenne.
"That's cool. Anyways I have good news. I'm entering the tournament."
"Tournament?" asked Conren.
"The annual Avi Tournament is a test of fighting ability. It's coming up in two months." said Ravenne.
"Ooh, you two should enter." said Kairu.
"I'll enter."
"What about you Conren?"
"Sure, why not?" answered Conren.
"Let's see if your puny cards can stand up to me."
"Are weapons allowed in the arena?"
"Well, you can use weapons. However, you're not allowed to kill your opponent. You can be disqualified for doing that."
"Interesting."
After school, Kairu and Ravenne went to Aekea to train with Sarruee. They entered a building with Sarruee waiting for them. "Good, you actually came this time." he said.
"Aw come on, so we missed a few days this weekend." said Kairu.
"That's time you're going to make up. You can start by running to Bass'Ken lake and back here again. You can't use teleporters or fly, and I'll be watching from the helicopter."
"We have to run all that way? Are you kidding me?"
"You can handle it, now go." Kairu and Ravenne began ran from Aekea to Bass'ken lake and back again. "Good, now that you're done with your warm up it's time for the real training. Come with me to the desert."
"That copter ride should give us time to rest." said Ravenne.
"Who says you're ridding in the helicopter?" After a while of running Ravenne and Kairu made it to the dessert.
Panting, Kairu said: "Okay, we're here, what do we have to do?" Sarruee pointed at two boulders.
"You have to destroy one of them, like so." Sarruee walked up to one of the boulders and his fist glowed blue. He took an attack stance and struck the boulder with his fist, breaking it into pieces. "Now it's your turn, you two can work together." Kairu looked at the remaining boulder.
"How come we get the big boulder?" he asked.
"Cuz there's two of you now get going." Kairu went up to the boulder and took the same attack stance as Sarruee. Then he struck the boulder... and made a crack.
"Ow my hand, arg."
"Let me try." said Ravenne. Ravenne went up to the boulder and gave a wide kick with her leg... she made a crack.
"Aah, too tough." she said.
"Alright that's it." said Kairu as he pulled out his swords. "I'm going to mince this boulder." Kairu rapidly struck the boulder with his swords until he became tired.
"You two have the potential to break that boulder." said Sarruee. "It's time you learned how to properly use your respective powers. Kairu, There's a simple solution to your problem. First, put away your swords."
"What for?" asked Kairu.
"They hold back your energy blasts." Kairu put away his swords. "Now I want you to put your hands together." Kairu positioned his hands in a ball. "Now I want you to focus your energy there. Don't shoot it, just hold it there." Kairu formed a glowing ball with his energy. "Now, when you think you've gathered enough energy, shoot it." Kairu gather some more energy and then shot the energy blast at the boulder, breaking half of it.
"Awesome! I did it." said Kairu.
"Now its your turn Ravenne. You said you discovered a transformation move?"
"That's right." said Ravenne. "But I haven't been able to control it."
"That's why your solution isn't so simple. Your transformation was probably influenced by emotion. Try to think about what you felt that day, and whatever caused those feelings, imagine the boulder to be that."
"Okay, I'll try." Ravenne stared at the boulder for a moment. She imagined the boulder to be the giant robot she fought at the snow base. Ravenne walked up to the boulder and remembered that moment. She reared her fist back and gave a powerful blow to the boulder, destroying it.
"Well, it's not exactly a transformation but you've certainly found new power."
"I guess so." Later that day Ravenne, Kairu, and Sarruee were back in the building in Aekea.
"It's time for your next exercise. Walk into the holoroom." said Sarruee. The three went into the holoroom. The room took the form of a round metallic room. "This will be a sparing match."
"That's cool, you ready Ravenne?" asked Kairu.
"Wait." said Sarruee. "You two will be sparring... against me!"
"So we have to fight you?" asked Ravenne.
"That's right, now get ready!"
"Two against one? This should be easy." said Kairu. Kairu and Ravenne both charged at Sarruee. Sarruee dodged both attacks and hit Kairu while kicking Ravenne, throwing both of them at a distance. Kairu threw a focused energy blast at Sarruee, but Sarruee swatted it away with his hand. Kairu then threw a barrage of energy blasts, but Sarruee deflected all of them with his hand. Ravenne came from behind with a kick, but Sarruee stopped her leg with his hand and tossed Ravenne towards Kairu, grounding both of them. "I think we may need to use teamwork here." said Kairu.
"Hey don't give up now." said Sarruee. "If you keep trying, you just might land a hit." Kairu ran up to Sarruee and began doing multiple attacks as Sarruee blocked every one of them. Kairu jumped up, revealing Ravenne right behind him doing a flying kick. She struck Sarruee making him airborne. Kairu then came up from behind Sarruee, grabbed him, and threw him up as he flew up. As Sarruee was up in the air, Kairu and Ravenne came from different sides and flew towards him with their fists held forward. Just as they were about to hit, Sarruee positioned himself and spread his arms out, stopping Kairu and Ravenne at each side of him. Sarruee quickly turned Kairu and Ravenne upwards and punched both of them in their bellies. Sarruee landed on the ground with style while Kairu and Ravenne crashed down. "Nice use of team work." said Sarruee. "But you need to work on your timing, never give your opponent the chance to counter."
"Yeah yeah whatever." said Kairu.
"Maybe you should listen sometimes." said Ravenne.
"By the way Sarruee, me and Ravenne are entering the tournament. Are you going Sarruee?"
"I'm not much interested in competing in a tournament." said Sarruee. "However, it is a good chance for you to test your skills. Get ready, because for the next two months I'm going to train you like never before."
"He, he, I can't wait." said Kairu.
