: My Stories:
I have an imagination the size of the universe. If ever I do become a famous writer like Christopher Paolini. Though I will never be as good as him.
She looked up into his hazel eyes. She felt her energy drain. She saw something in the corner of her eye and could no longer make sense of things anymore. She fell forward landing on Josten and knocking him off balance. Her arm was wrapped around him as in natural protection of him. She rolled from under her to run into a pair of greyish black feet which smelt horrible. He grabbed his nose and immediately crawled back to The unconscious Denzin. He looked up into the lifeless eyes of a Yazu, but where were Terrance and Garn? He looked over his shoulder to see them pinned by many Yazu, more than would regularly be needed with a normal person. Josten looked back to that Yazu that stood in front of him. Rage filled him and he grabbed Denzin’s extended staff. He got up and ran towards the Yazu. Just then Denzin came to, she watched in horror as Josten was thrown aside but just as surprised was the Yazu so was Denzin for her staff stuck in it’s belly and it crumpled to the ground. She got up and ran to Josten pulling out her staff as she went. Josten lay on the edge of the forest and road. She skidded to a stop and looked him over afraid of the worse. He had a cut on his cheek and a bump on his head, but he was breathing. Denzin held him close to her then she stood holding Josten in her arms. She went to the Yazu surrounding the others.
“There’s just one thing you never do,” she said as she walked, “and that’s getting a Yazu’eth angry ” she put her hand on one of the Yazu’s shoulder, it turn and the next thing it knew is that it had a fist in it’s face and was flying across the road. This distraction allowed Terrance and Garn to break free, but they didn’t do any of the fighting. Denzin handed Josten to Garn and went on her way on killing all the Yazu. This went down the road as more of them came spilling out of the forest. Garn sat Josten in a safe place and the fighting began anew. The fight wore on down the road, she came back up to see two lumps. She went to Josten first how laid on the ground then she went to Garn and slapped him, he groaned. She went to Terrance, “Terrance,” she whispered. He sighed and opened his eyes. “Come take Josten, Garn’s out cold. I’ll get some things.”
“Your village is on fire,” he said sadly. She turned,
“No ” she whispered. She ran up the road and into her house. She grabbed a sack and packed everything in her trunk haphazardly, she then ran into the kitchen and grabbed a smaller sack and threw every food item in it. She threw on he trunk sack and grabbed as many water skins as she had; three, and grabbed two lanterns, the third she shattered onto the ground. She looked about as the fire rose and said, “No Yazu will set foot in my home,” she walked out and met with Terrance and the now conscious Garn. They ran into the forest without another word. Garn and Denzin stopped at the edge to watch there burning home one last time.
They ran and did not stop until dawn. They laid out there bed rolls but did not sleep. Denzin laid Josten down beside her. She wrapped her arms around him and stroked his head. She sat up deciding to change his bandages. She finished and got up to go jump on the a branch Terrance sat at. She landed softly without disturbing the limb and sat down. They didn’t say anything for a long time. They just sat admiring the view of the forest for a while. She sighed, he yawned. She looked over at him as he leaned up against the trunk of the tree and closed his eyes. She jumped down, “Garn’s asleep,” she stated. She walked off but as she did she raised a hand behind her in a wave, “Watch Josten for me.” She let her hand fall, he opened one eye and watched her go. She walked for a half an hour following the sound of water. Her steps were as noiseless as the wind. Finally she reached a small pool of spring water. She started at it intently then began to undress. The morning air was cool and she shivered. She stepped in. It was deeper than it looked. It went up to her chest. She sunk into the water and stayed there longer than a human could. She submerged throwing her hair back which flung water like a shower. She washed her body and hair, then headed back to camp. Terrance sat up when she returned and hopped down. Half the day had already passed. “Anything?” she asked. He shook his head. “Maybe later then. We’re not traveling till tomorrow anyway.” Denzin sat at the fire that Terrance made while she was away. She took out a piece of bread and chewed on it. Garn gave a snore and it woke him.
“Is he awake-“ he yawn in mid-sentence, “yet?” he looked to Denzin who shook her head. Garn was awfully quiet. They were all awfully quiet. Terrance went up in the tree, garn nestled into his cloak and leaned against a tree trunk and Denzin went back to lay down with Josten. She put an arm around him and quickly fell into dream ridden sleep.
