The ground was wet and the air was cold. With every step, she felt the water seep more and more into her shoes, starting to soak her socks. She’d been walking for hours at this point, and holding her staff up above the mud was starting to make her arm ache. Why do I always get the worst assignments? she thought to herself before stepping in a deep puddle, the murky, smelly, ice cold water reaching her calf. She cursed the professors back in their offices, safe and warm, until she looked up and finally saw what she’d come for.
