I just realized that I never read comments in my journals so i read through all of them And a question was posed to me that i never answered. I was talking about Structural violence and both Adam and Audrey asked what it was. Structural violence refers to the violence that is caused by the way a society is structured.
example: Sweat shop workers are forced to work under terrible conditions, but since they mostly lack necessary skills for other jobs(literacy and such) they are forced to continue working. They also can't quit because they would starve if they did.
this is caused by the way that the situation was built, and taken advantage of. This problem could be solved in the US gov, but since it would cost money people won't do much>>
its rather sad
