Yoozepode backed his way to a wall, startled. The black beast was huge, and it moved across the cavern towards Yoozepode. When the black beast opened its jaws, Yoozepode was too shocked to draw his sword.
Then the beast attacked. It ate some dark figure behind a stalacite that Yoozepode was pushed up against. Yoozepode wondered why the beast didn't eat him.
"Valux?" asked Yoozepode, "Who was that?"
The dragon roared, "He was an assassin hired by Lord Doxis. And Lord Doxis trapped me in this rock under some spell. How you broke it, I don't know. But since you have released me, I have a bond to you now."
Yoozepode then asked, "Can you fly?"
"Well, it has been many years. I will try my best."
Yoozepode got onto the Valux's back as the dragon prepared to beat his mighty wings. After a few attempts, Valux's wings sent heavy blasts of air everywhere as he flew off into the sunlit sky with a new friend on his back.
