Unexpected Hero
As she layed on the ledge, her vision slowly fading from blood loss, Koopa daydreamed. Mostly about what she'll eat if she gets away, but she also pictured someone coming to her rescue for once. Something she usually wouldn't think about. She immagined chazu leapping from the top of the cliff attacking the wolf demon below. As she continued to dream to herself, felt a presence looming over her. The scent was familiar, but she didn't think clearly and opened her eyes slowly mumbling to herself.
"...Chazu?"
Instead she saw Sephrain looking down at her. "You look like crap."
Koopa frowned, "Oh hell..."
"Hiya!" Sephrain tilted his head to the side as he asked. "You fall down a cliff or something?"
"More like 'scrambled up to this ledge...'" She said in a low growl, "How the hell did you get on this ledge, anyway?"
"By doing what I love most! Putting trash bags over my head!"
"...what?"
"Don't ask questions." Sephrain said as he looked her over. "Tatoos are overrated... just so ya know."
"...These are claw makes, you goit!"
"What kind of tattoo artist uses claws...?" He took a closer look at her wounds. "You don't look so good."
"Ya think!? just..." Koopa sighed and waved her hand, shooing him away. "Just go and find chazu or tina or someone. I need to get that guy off my tail." She slowly pointed down at the base of the cliff.
"Hmm? What guy?" Seph stood up and walked over to the ledge, peering down at the wolf demon.
The wolf demon, Noxtea, leaning against the ledge, flexing and flapping his wings as he growls in pain.
Sephrain scooped up a few rocks and perched himself on edge of the ledge. "That's one butt ugly bird..."
"That's not a bird seph." Koopa slowly rolled onto her side and glared at him. "That's a....what are you doin?
Sephrain flicked a few rocks down toward Noxtea and watched for his reaction. "Oh.. nothing..." Noxtea looked around, growling angrily. Sephrain, with a grin on his face, continued flicking pebbles down at the wolf. "My god.. you've GOT to try this!"
"...I would if my arm weren't hurtin like hell..."
Noxtea glares up at Sephrain, growling louder.
"Hiya birdie!" Sephrain shouted as he grabbed an acorn off the ground and throws it at Noxtea.
The wolf swatted the acorn away and stared up evily. "Do I look like some kind of bird to you?"
Koopa peered over the edge and shouted down at Noxtea. "Don't expect an intelligent answer to that!"
Sephrain looked up, pondering for a moment before saying, "Maybe a deformed ostrich." After chucking a few more rocks at Noxtea, he turns toward Koopa again. "So how exactly did you get messed up like that?"
Koopa rolled onto her back once more and sighed, "...the 'deformed ostrich' did it...."
Noxtea begans clawing the side of the cliff in an effort to climb it. "COME DOWN HERE AND SAY THAT TO MY FACE YOU MISERABLE EXCUSE FOR A LIVING BEING!"
"Hmm..." Sephrain looked down at Noxtea, then back at Koopa. "I didn't think you'd ever get ripped apart by a bird..." Then he turns and kicks a large rock down the cliff.
As Noxtea continued his yelling and cussing, Koopa blocked him out and continued her conversation with Sephrain. "exactly. So I guess it's not a bird, is it?"
"Well what the hell is it? It's got wings... and it looks like it did quite a bit of damage on you..." Sephrain said as he sat next to Koopa.
Becoming even more irritated by Sephrain, Koopa yelled out, "It's a wolf demon Seph!"
"...Not a bird?"
"No...not a bird."
"Wolf? Wanna go meet him?" Sephrain said happily as he stands up and walks over to the ledge, about to jump down.
Even with all the pain she was in, Koopa had enough strength to grab Sephrain by the tail and pull him back onto the ledge. "Are you nuts!? Noxtea will kill you!"
"Noxtea, eh? Well why would he wanna kill me?" He said, kicking another large rock down accidentally.
"...That's why" She shutters as Noxtea lets out a roar when the rock hits him. "Will you stop doin that, Seph!?"
"Will you stop worrying? You're in no condition to be straining yourself like that! Plus... this is fun."
"You think this is all fun and games until he comes up her and rips us ap-...wait....can you attack him from up here?"
"Depends what you mean by attack."
"Like a long range attack? Somethin besides throwin rocks?" Koopa sneered.
"I got these... They might help..." Sephrain held his hands out in front of him and a large fan appears in each hand. "Chazu calls 'em the Fans of the Slashing Winds or something."
Koopa stared at the fans in disbelief. "...How did you.....Since when can you....Who are you and what have you done with Sephrain?"
"Now why would you say something like that?" Sephrain said with a smile. He kneels at the very edge of the cliff at the furious Noxtea. "I forget why i'm attacking someone I don't even know... but these fans are too fun NOT to use!"
He pulled his arms back behind him and jumps off the ledge. Then in one swift movement he swings both fans hard enough to propel him onto the cliff again in a back flip, and sends two large gusts of wind tearing down the side of the cliff toward Noxtea.
Noxtea used his wings to block the gusts of wind, but completely lossed his wings in the prossess. He roars in pain loudly enough to make the ground shake.
Leaning over the cliff, Sephrain shoke his head as he dismisses the fans. "Ow.. poor guy... that looked like it hurt..."
Koopa was still leaning over the side enough to see what became of Noxtea, and was now looking up at Sephrain with her mouth hanging open.
Sephrain shrugged, "What!? You told me to attack him!", then peered down at the cliff's base again. "Hey Zee... your friend's gone..."
"He's not my....just get me home..."
"That, I can do." He pulled Koopa onto his back so that she was holding onto him, piggy back style. "Tina's place?"
"No...my place....I dont want to hear her mouth about me leavin blood stains everywhere."
"Havn't been there in a while... where was it again?"
"I'll show you the way...."
"Pfft.. and you wanted me to go get Chazu or Tina to help you. I was perfectly capable of saving your a** by myself!"
"I may be beat up but I'll still maul you if you push me."
"I'm not trying to insult you or anything... i'm just saying you shouldn't underestimate me."
After about twenty minutes, Sephrain finally gets Koopa home. She hugs him and limps toward her front door.
Sephrain asked, with a bit of a worried tone, "You gonna be alright? You still look pretty banged up... and I've no idea where that Noxtea went..."
"I'll be fine. Thanks alot for helpin me Seph.."
"No problem! Just be sure to let me know when if you have any more bird problems!" Sephrain laughed before running down the hill and into the forest.
Koopa growled to herself as she entered her home. "...Why didnt I slit his throat when I had the chance..."
