Valux, with Yoozepode upon his back, and Eritha flew off into the night after saying their goodbyes to Augor.
They rested in a nearby forest. They thought it would be a tough night, but they knew they must sleep if to gather help in the morn.
Morning came as well as breakfast. Bread, toasted on a fire, and some fruits from the pack satisfied Yoozepode, while the black and red dragons flew off to hunt for theirs. Yoozepode stared out into the trees, enjoying the morn. Then he was stunned when he saw a pair of red eyes glaring at him from up in a tree. He pretended not to notice, as he casually pulled out his bow.
He notched an arrow to the string and pretended to aim at a bird as he pulled the string taut. As quickly as he could, he lit the arrow on fire and aimed directly where the red eyes had been.
But there was nothing there but space. Then Yoozepode heard shuffling in a bush nearby. He turned quickly, only to see nothing again. Yoozepode fired the arrow at a tree to put out its flames. He put the bow on his back and drew his sword.
A figure appeared out of nowhere saying, "So, you too?"
Yoozepode whirled around and held his sword out threateningly. The red eyed figure drew a katana and whipped it around with no fear. Yoozepode then placed a wall of fire in between himself and the figure as the figure stepped forward.
"Who are you?" demanded Yoozepode, "Or have we met before?"
"We have met before, Yoozepode."
"How- how do you know my name?" yelled Yoozepode.
"Let's say we are old friends. My name is Metalbolt. Call me Bolt for short."
It all made sense to Yoozepode as he recognized the newcomer's face. The shy kid from back at the village!
