Looking through her mothers old photo books, the young Konoichi sighed. She was hoping to find some books on her mothers past. She pulled out a book that had pictures of a strange man. She blinked and took them o ver to her mother, Kurenai. "Mommy! Mommy!" she yelled. "Who is this man next to you in this picture?" She asked, pointing to the man. Kurenai gave the little girl a sad smile.
"Thats your father," She told her. She then looked at the little girl. "Would you like to hear a few stories about him and later we will visit his grave?" She asked her. The little girl nodded.
Kurenai began having a flashback and began telling the story to the little girl. "Well hey there," Asuma said to the new jounin, Kurenai. She looked over at him and blinked. "You know, smoking can give you lung cancer. Hello," she said, blinking. Asuma held his hand out. "Names Saratobi Asuma. And you are?" Kurenai shook his hand. "My names is Yuuhi Kurenai. Its a pleasure to meet you," she told him. Asuma smiled at Kurenai and Kurenai smiled back. She turned to leave to go meet with her new team but Asuma stopped her. "I was wondering.... would you like to go out for dinner sometime?" Kurenai turned to look at him and blushed. "... yes I would.... sometime when were not taking our students on there first mission though," she told him, walking away.
She turned to the little girl and smiled. The little girl jumped with joy. "Tell me more about him!" she screamed. Kurenai smiled and began telling her about there wedding. She wanted to skip a few details to risk telling her some violent stories. In the memory, Asuma walked over to Kurenai. "Kurenai......... I figured it was time that.. well.. um.. Kurenai..." Asuma began to say. Kurenai took the cigarette that was in Asumas mouth and smushed it on the ground. "Go on.." she told him. Asuma blinked and smiled. He leaned down on one knee and looked at Kurenai. "Well, Kurenai.." He pulled out a ring and showed it to her. "Will you marry me?" He asked. Kurenai blinked and began to cry. She tackled Asuma and told him "yes". The wedding was on August 2nd.
The little girl hugged Kurenai. "I see mommy. I take it daddy was a good guy.." she told her. The little girl looked up at her mothers face and noticed she was crying. She wiped a tea off her eye. "Dont cry mommy....... but mommy.. theres one last thing Im wondering..... where is my daddy?" Kurenai turned to the girl with a shocked face. She wiped the tears off her eyes. "He died...." She told her. Kurenai stood up and took the little girls hand. " Lets go.. visit his grave.." she told her.
She began to walk to the grave site but stopped by the Yaman aka flower shop. Ino looked at Kurenai with a surprised look. "Oh! Kurenai... and whos this? Is she your daughter?" Ino asked. Kurenai nodded. "I would like to buy a boquet of roses and a boquet of daffodils," she told Ino. Ino handed her the flowers and Kurenai handed Ino trhe money and left. Kurenai and her daughter headed towards the grave site. She handed the little girl the daffodils and put the roses on Asumas grave. "Asuma.. this is your daughter... Aerial...... shes three now.. Aerial... put the flowers on your dads grave.." Aerial nodded and set them on the grave. She didnt understand what was going on.
Kurenai wiped a few falling tears from her eyes. "Shes everything like you Asuma. In every way. She has your attittude... your eyes... she has everything..." Kurenais eyes filled with tears which, once again, she tried to wipe away. But she just couldnt. She burst into tears. She looked at the grave and looked up. She blinked. She was either hallucinating or it was real.. but she swore she saw Asumas spirit hugging her and telling her 'I love you'. Kurenai wiped the tears from her eyes and turned to Aerial. "... Lets go home now.." she told her. She took Aerials hand and walked home with Asumas spirit next to them.
