The Second Kiss
This is a poem, slightly edited, that I got from the webmanga Hero in the 21st Century

It is an Inuyasha doujinshi, and quite a good story.

here's the poem:

My dear friend,
Have you ever had a girl
stand up on tiptoe to kiss you?

That was our second kiss.

What a wonderful thing a second kiss is!

A first kiss is an event.

But a second kiss --
a second kiss is one
in a series of kisses,
magnificently
unmemorable.

A second kiss
testifies that kissing
has become routine --
a little piece of
everyday life.

A first kiss can be
once in a lifetime.

But as soon as you've
committed to that
second kiss, you've
opened the gates
to hundreds more.

Long, passionate kisses
under pale moons,

langourous kisses on
sun-bright beaches,

deep, drowsy kisses under
cool sheets,

warm, lingering kisses in
cold vestibules.

Sad farewell kisses.

Kisses on cheeks,

on foreheads,

on sunburnt lips --

on body parts that
have cried out
all their lives
to be kissed.

All of these kisses,
waiting to spill out
into our lives from
behind that dam of
our second kiss.

We kissed -- the second of thousands and thousands of kisses.

This was one of the sweetest things I've ever read,
and I thought I'd share it with you all.
If you're an Inuyasha fan, you should read Hero in the 21st Century.
