Not the brightest crayon in the shed...
My daily stumblings.
Blargh
Okay, so this is my "story" I've been working on.
I know it really doesn't have much dirrection, but give me your input on it.
I know it also has a lot of mistakes, too.
So here it is:

>>>>>>>>>>Henry lay on his bed above the covers. The heat was like a dream, too extreme to believe, but the sensation of wetness as he wiped his forehead reminded him he was certainly not dreaming, unfortunately. “Well, that’s what you get for living in Florida,” he thought. Sometimes he regretted moving here in the summer for a job promotion, but the memory of the cheep, run-down apartment he used to call “home” made him realize he had made the right choice in moving from Maine. Plus the double in pay wasn’t too shabby, either, though that did mean leaving his family, friends, and semi-livable weather.
>>>>>>>>>>Finally realizing that sleep was unattainable, Henry got up to go to the refrigerator. As the light poured into the room along with a light coolness, he let out a relieved sigh just to escape the heat for a moment. He grabbed a bottle of some sort of soda after scanning the shelves for a moment, not even bothering to get a cup. Fizzy bubbles tickled his throat as the sound of crinkling plastic broke the eerily dead silence that surrounded him, which began an abrupt barking from next door’s dog. “Damn dog…..” he mumbled as he screwed the cap back on the bottle.
>>>>>>>>>>Back in bed Henry once again struggled for sleep. His skin stuck to his bed. Of course air conditioning was apparently too high-class. But the fan at the end of his bed….. He had turned it off after all if blew was more hot air. Now it was his last hope. He let out an exasperated sigh, pushing himself out of bed. He flipped the switch and was going to lay back down when he saw a light in the kitchen. “Must have left the refrigerator open,” he said unsurely. But walking in there he noticed the door was shut. “What the…..?” he began as he reached the doorway. Realizing there wasn’t any trouble, he shook his head and turned to go back to his restless sleep when he saw something move. It looked like some sort of shadow, but somehow it was like it wasn’t there, yet he could see it. But it was gone now. As he began to start his trek back, the shadow whizzed back through his path. Now it passed his doorway repeatedly, faster and faster, until it was a blur, making a “whooshing” sound. Henry threw his head back and forth, trying to follow the thing. He was getting light headed, when the shadow started to glow. The light got brighter and brighter, until it was almost too light to see. Just as he stumbled backwards, it stopped. The light, the sound, the shadow. None of it was there anymore. Relieved, he started back to his room when something kind of whistled behind him. Still wary, he didn’t know if he should turn or not.
