Miroku rushed with Mira in his arms to find a house close by. Mira was sick—one, her stomach was ripped open; two, whenever Naraku is around, there is a miasma projecting from him. The miasma was caught in Mira’s bloodstream via her open wound.
Wait a minute! Miroku thought. This house is Lady Kaede’s house! She can fully heal Mira! Thank God that we were nearby! Lady Kaede was a woman who was kind, generous, a little on the ‘plump’ side, and skilled in the arts of medicine. She had one eye.
“Lady Kaede!” Miroku blurted out, waking Kaede up. “I’m sorry to interrupt your sleep, but my love had been possessed by Naraku, he came out of her body [not as a birth] and part of his miasma is in her bloodstream! Please, you have to do something!”
“Miroku…your loved one might not survive, but I’ll do what I can. Ye must be patient. Poisons in blood are difficult to get out.” Lady Kaede explained with concern.
Days later, Sango befriended Inuyasha and the others, yet, she hadn’t met Mira, and Miroku never seemed to talk about her. Miroku was quiet from time to time, even though Mira was recovering in the house in front of him. He just couldn’t go in, for she had no clothes on at all!
“Miroku must really miss Mira,” Shippou declared out loud.
“Who’s Mira?” Sango asked.
“Mira is a girl that Miroku is in love with. She was possessed by Naraku and some of Naraku’s poison was taken in by her wound. She is with Lady Kaede, a woman who can heal almost any wound. Kagome replied.
“Mira was always bugging us, ‘Miroku, protect me! Where is Miroku? My love can’t stop my own beating heart! I’” Inuyasha said in a high voice to imitate Mira. He had stopped from Kagome’s cold glare at him. “Fine, I admit it. I miss Mira too.” Inuyasha muttered.
Kirara, Sango’s pet, rubbed her head against Sango. Kirara was a fire breathing kitten-demon who grew whenever there was a threat and spat fire for defense.
“I haven’t heard Miroku speak in days. He must worry about Mira so much. Inuyasha hasn’t complained either.” Shippou said to himself.
While the girls were taking their baths, Myouga jumped onto Miroku’s shoulder with excitement.
“Myouga,” Miroku asked.
“Miroku, Mira…she…”
“Is something the matter with her?” Miroku blurted.
“Yes…kind of. She’s sick still…and…”
“Tell me, please Myouga.”
“She ran away into the woods by herself!”
“I’m after her! Thanks, Myouga.” Miroku yelled, running into the forest. Inuyasha caught sight of him running so fast.
“Miroku, where the hell are you going?” Inuyasha said.
“I’m uh,” Miroku couldn’t tell where Mira was, otherwise, everyone would get involved. “I’m going for a walk!”
“Why are you running, then?”
“I can’t hold it!” Miroku exclaimed, thinking it was the best excuse. He got away from Inuyasha and ran to his destination point.
“Oh, so now Miroku says he’s going on a walk, and how he has to go to the bathroom. Hmm…as long as he doesn’t perform lechery for a woman…nah…Mira is already his girlfriend.” Inuyasha stopped his pondering and sniffed the fresh air. “Wait a minute! Mira’s scent is toward the forest! Kagome, Shippou, Sango! Miroku is headed for Mira, who is in the woods! Let’s go after them before something gross happens!”
