So as anyone who still reads this could probably tell, it's been a long friggen time since I updated this. There's a bunch of reasons for that.
1. College. AKA Death to Online Life. Yes, college was a major time suck. I didn't have the chance to write stories as much, which led to not being able to type up said stories. It sucked. The most writing I did in college was crap papers that I didn't care about, most of which I did in the smallest amount of time possible (record: 4 page paper in 25 minutes). And I got great grades.
2. College, part II. Because I was so busy with college (I was heavily involved in the theater club, which led to numerous activities requiring my lighting expertise and a job that meant more time sucked out of my days), I had taken a hiatus from Gaia (also, my psycho ex was a part of the reason. More details later). The hiatus meant that I couldn't update this journal, obviously.
3. Psycho Ex. So I dated this guy for 2 and a half years. It would have been less if he wasn't a controlling bass turd. He was convinced that any website I used that he wasn't on was a way for me to flirt with other guys. He also hacked a bunch of my sites and emails. And checked my phone. Needless to say, while I had my bout of stupidity with this guy, I was too busy pleasing the moron to write for myself. Oh, and anything I did write outside of classes, he insisted on reading. I don't know what I was doing with him.
4. Chaos. Due to the mass amount of chaos confined to my small room, I have no idea where my written pages for my stories are. They could be anywhere. They could have even been mistaken with some of my college papers/notes that I already tossed. I hope not. That would suck. But they could've been. There's also the fact that I've gone through a few laptops since these past few updates, and most of my files haven't been copied over to the new beast yet. I'm working on it.
5. Forgetfulness. That's right. I forget things. Suck it up.
That being said, I do have some stories saved to my new laptop that I can try to get up if I deem them good enough and if they are not already up here.
And if no one reads this, at least I got to rant about my psycho ex for a while =D

Chapter Two: My Awakening |

I slowly opened my eyes, having no idea where I was or how long I had been asleep. I knew I wasn't anywhere near my home for two reasons: I had never seen the place before, and it was completely silent. Sitting up, I looked around at my surroundings, holding my aching head. Everything was dark, and I soon noticed that I was in a cell of some sort. As I stood, the bed creaked, and I was sure it'd collapse. Nothing seemed right here. After all, it didn't show any signs of a door or any way in.
"Well, this just sucks. I'm in solitary confinement or something," I thought out loud, sighing and leaning against the wall.
"Now, now, it's not that bad, is it?" Akito questioned, emerging from the shadows. He smirked at me, his eyes glinting fiercely. I stared at him in shock, trying to move farther away. Unfortunately, I only succeeded in tripping and falling on the bed. "Comfortable?" He chuckled as he walked closer, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"What do you want with me?!" I asked, doing my best to hide my fear. He gently moved my hair off my face, hovering over me. It felt as though he was trying to place me under a spell.
"You know, you're even more beautiful when you're frightened. Don't worry. You're safe...for now. I'm the new ruler of the Demonic Kingdom, hand chosen by the Great Oberon before he was killed by your mother. I, naturally, need a wife...and I've chosen you."
"So why put me in a horrible place like this? And why choose me, the daughter of the mix that slained your precious king? Surely, you must know that I am more angel than demon, do you not?" I shot those questions at him so fast that I was proud of the look of confusion on his face.
"All of your questions will be answered in due time. Come, I'll take you to a more suitable place where you can change into something warmer." He had sighed and lowered his gaze before rising. He held out his hand to me, but I simply stood, ignoring his offer. Sighing once more, he simply led me out of the cell, into a brightly lit hallway. After a decent amount of walking, he paused at a room, unlocking it and leading me inside. "This room is right next to mine. It's usually where a fiance would stay, but we can ignore that little fact for now. If you should ever need anything, this door will lead into my room. Feel free to visit any time," he motioned to a door by the bed before giving me a brief tour.
"Thank you. I'll be fine in here," I softly said, bowing my head politely. He smiled, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"You don't need to bow. It is my pleasure, doing all of this for you." Slowly running his hand down my arm, he took my hand, softly kissing it before exiting.
"What a wierdo..." I turned away as the door closed, deciding that I needed to find something to change into. I walked over to the closet, opening it. I gasped as I gazed at the numerous gowns. Each gown was magnificent, yet I wanted something plain. I changed into the plainest dress that was in there. It was a crimson, long-sleeved gown with an extremely low-cut back and a slit up to the middle of my thigh, just off center. As I was examining myself in the mirror, my stomach grumbled loudly. "I think I need some food." I headed for the door that connected my room to Akito's.
I slowly opened the door, silently peeking inside. He hadn't heard the door open, since he was changing. I blushed deeply as he turned around, shirtless. He just stared at me, dropping the shirt he held on the bed.
"What would you like, milady?" he asked, motioning for me to come closer. I hesitantly walked forward, closing the door behind me. He sat down on the bed, pulling me in front of him. "You look astonishing in that gown, by the way."
"Thank you. Akito, I was wondering if I could have something to eat. I'm starving," I replied, still blushing slightly. He grinned, pulling me closer still, so now I was between his legs.
"Of course. I'll accompany you to the dining hall when I'm done changing." I nodded, while his grin grew, and his arms found their way around my legs. He carefully placed me on his leg, holding me carefully. "But we don't have to rush, do we?" He pulled me into a rough kiss, his free hand trying to work its way up my dress. He scooped me up, laying me on the bed. "There's a reason that slit's there." He flipped the skirt back, pushing it up. I struggled to get away, but he soon pinned me down.
"Please, Akito. Don't. Let me go!" I pleaded, tears forming in my eyes. Something changed almost immediately about him. He slid off the bed, backing away.
"I...I'm so sorry, Raven. I-I don't know what came over me," he whispered, turning away. I quickly stood, adjusting my dress. After collecting myself, I picked up his shirt, hesitantly walking over and handing it to him. "Thank you..." After putting it on, he pulled me into a gentle hug, which I returned. "You truly are an angel."
"Only at times. After all, I'm still part demon." I smirked as he grinned and nodded.
"Let's get you some food now." He held out his hand, which I took this time around. He squeezed my hand gently before we left the room. It was another long walk, so long that he offered to carry me halfway. I almost took that offer.
As he led me into the dining hall, I looked around in awe. It was simply exquisite. Everything was white or silver, or both even. I was amazed by all of the sights and sounds. A small orchestra played softly, entertaining those who were enjoying their meals. He led me to the head table, which had a deep crimson table cloth. All of the other tables had white cloths instead. However, they were still as ornate as the head table.
"What would you like?" he asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"What do you have?" I asked in return, looking up at him.
"Anything you'd like." He pulled out a chair for me, pushing me in after I sat down.
"Do you have pasta?" He nodded and listed all of the types. After taking my order, he returned, sitting next to me.
"It'll be a little while, if that's alright."
"Of course. Give us time to relax." He chuckled, nodding in agreement. "I would still like to know why you chose me when there are plenty of women that are better."
"You're not like them, Raven. You really aren't. You're so different, so...new to me and everyone else here. You're also the sweetest person I've ever met, and I want to learn more about you."
"You're already trying to seduce the new maiden? An angel, no less. That's so pathetic, Akito," a man said, walking up to us. He grinned at me, seemingly looking me over. He looked identical to Akito, yet there was something different about him. "You've begun to put the spell on her already? You're moving faster than usual."
"Damien, shut up," Akito growled, standing up.
"Now, now, is that how you want to act in front of the young maiden?" Damien smirked, turning his attention to me. "I'm sure a beauty like her would hate to watch us fight." I looked away, staying silent. "Come, Akito. We have to talk in private." Akito reluctantly followed him out of the dining hall, leaving me alone with a large amount of demons. Several walked past me, suspicious glances aimed towards me.
After me food came, I thanked the waitress before slowly beginning to eat. A group of younger demons approached me, pulling the chair back roughly. I gasped, dropping my knife and fork.
"So what's an angel doing inside our dining hall? You're just asking to become our dinner," one of the teenage boys spoke as the leader. "Why don't you come with us? We'll protect you. Come on, babe." Two others pulled me to my feet, yet another two grabbing my wings. I struggled to get away from them, but I was out of luck.
"Release her now!" Akito shouted, striding towards us. The demons immediately let me go, dropping me to the ground. I panted, my eyes closed tightly. Akito knelt beside me, holding me close. "I will speak to all of you later about your behavior towards my guest. To your rooms now." They immediately scattered, while I whimpered into Akito's shoulder. "It's alright now, Raven. You're safe." He helped me to my feet, setting me back in the chair.
"Can I just go back to my room...I don't feel like eating anymore," I asked softly, still holding onto him. He nodded, scooping me up into his arms. He carried me out of the dining hall, where Damien was apparently waiting.
"Is she alright? What did those boys do to her?" he asked worriedly, looking at me.
"She's fine. They just shook her up a little bit." I closed my eyes, resting my head on his shoulder. He carried me all the way to my room, Damien following close behind. Once there, Damien opened the door, and Akito entered, immediately setting me down on the bed.
"You'll be safe, little angel. Akito won't let anything happen to you. Sleep well." Damien bowed to us before exiting the room.
"Do you want anything?" Akito asked me quietly as I curled up under the covers. I shook my head, avoiding his gaze.
"Thank you...for everything..." I whispered, finally looking up at him. He grinned, softly kissing me on the forehead.
"Sweet dreams, little angel." He quietly left, and within minutes, I was fast asleep.

So this is a different story... |
|

Yeah, since Robyn still hasn't found the other one...and typed it up...heh...Robyn decided to put up another story for the time being. It's a sequel to another story, but for some unknown reason I don't think I put that one up anywhere. You really don't miss much, so no worries. It's separated into chapters. Sadly, though...it doesn't have a title XDD Anyway...ENJOY!
Chapter 1: The Beginning
A daughter of a mixed breed and a pure breed. I'm not supposed to exist by law of the two worlds. I've been kept in hiding for several years now. My mother doesn't want me to live as she did, in fear and loneliness. My father wants to protect both of us, since neither of us should be alive. My father's a pure blood angel. My mother, on the other hand, is an angel and demon mixed breed. Thus, I am more angel than demon, yet I'm still not allowed to be in either kingdom. My parents both lived in the Angelic Kingdom for years until my birth. I'm 3/4 angel and 1/4 demon, yet the angels fear the worse of my small amount of demon blood.
Please forgive me, I've forgotten to introduce myself. My name is Raven, daughter of Ayeka and Kiteno. I'm sure you've heard of my mother's story already. I'm a lot like her, but I'm also like my father. I share my mother's eyes, a deep sapphire and blood red ruby. I also share most of her looks, though I am much taller, and my wings are silver with a black tip on the feathers. Both of my parents raised me to be gentle, an attempt to prevent my dark demon from emerging.
We lived in New York City, where my mother's story began. We have a different apartment, though the man who gave us the apartment never changed. I remember staying up late when I was little, just to see the beautiful city lights. I remember the view so well. We were still living there when I turned eighteen and became an adult. I wasn't expecting any lavish gifts, which was good because I didn't get any. I didn't care, I was used to it. They gave me one gift, a beautiful necklace with a silver star and crescent moon on it. I was amazed. It was breathtaking. They told me the story behind it. It was my grandmother's. Mom had had it since she could remember. Her mother was dead, killed by her own husband.
After they told me all of this, I was sent to bed rather quickly, since it was later than I usually stayed up. I remember having pleasant dreams that night, though I didn't sleep long.
I was awoken by a loud crash. Bolting out of bed, I looked around in fear, my eyes soon meeting two deep crimson ones. I stared straight at the demon. He was older, much older, and he apparently crashed straight through my window without a scratch on his body. Smirking, he quickly slammed my door shut, blocking it with anything imaginable. I tried to stop him, but he simply threw me across the room. Once he was done, he walked over to me, placing a hand on my cheek and guiding my eyes to his. He was quite handsome. I wouldn't deny it. He was tan, and had pitch black demon wings. His hair was long, just as jet black as his wings. He was extremely muscular, probably from working out everyday.
"Well, aren't you a pretty little thing?" he spoke, shaking me out of my thoughts. "And to think, you just turned eighteen. Pretty hard to believe if you ask me. Where are my manners? My name is Akito, Raven. It's a pleasure to finally meet the great Ayeka's daughter." He bowed, smirking and never taking his eyes off of me. I had heard of him before, yet I didn't remember where.
A sudden banging on the door took our attention away from each other. My father started shouting to me, my mother obviously right next to him.
"Raven?! Raven, what's going on in there? Are you alright? Who's in there with you?" his voice was strong, even though he was using his strength to try to break down the door. Before I could speak, Akito covered my mouth, grabbing me from behind.
"Save your strength, Kiteno! That door's blocked," Akito cackled, his grip on my waist tightening.
"Damnit Akito! Leave her alone! She has no part in any of this!" The next thing I knew, my mouth and nose were covered with a cloth, and I blacked out, hearing my parents shout at Akito while he cackled.

Yes, I'm thinking about calling this one Wings, though I'm still up for suggestions.
Here's more folks! ~~~ "I'll go get your father while you two relax," she told us before walking out of the room. Larion led me to the couch, and we sat down, his arm around my waist. I leaned against him gently, happy to be with him.
A few minutes later, a tall man with long black hair entered. He, too, had wings, but they were different. They were like a butterfly's, black mainly. They had elegant designs all over in a deep red, purple, and blue. His eyes, which were the same shade of amethyst as mine, looked over me immediately. It was as though he was making sure that I wasn't my mother.
"You must be Nysa. You look so much like your mother. If it wasn't for the hair color, I would've thought you were her. You are always welcome here, child. We'll protect you from Arthians," he said as he moved closer to us. I stared up at him, not knowing what to say. It was the first time I've ever felt truly safe. "Have your wings grown yet? I'm anxious to see what they look like." His question shocked me. I never thought I'd have wings. Sure, I knew that I was a mixed breed, but I never even imagined having wings.
"Um...I don't know, sir," I replied, obviously still surprised.
"Stand up and turn around, Nysa. I'll be able to tell you if they have or not," he told me. I obeyed and stood up, turning so my back was to him. I was told to take my sweatshirt off, and I obeyed once more.
"Dad...are you sure about this?" Larion asked, looking at us curiously.
"Of course. It'd be better off now rather than later," he replied, seemingly massaging my back. Larion frowned, taking my hands gently. Seconds later, there was a sharp stab of pain in both of my shoulder blades, as though both just shattered. I fell forward, Larion holding me up. I didn't have a clue what happened, but apparently he cut into my back, since my shirt was shred to pieces. I was shuttering in Larion's arms as both he and his father stared at my back.
"That's something I've never seen before," his father said. I didn't even try to look. It just hurt too much.
Suddenly, a strong force separated all of us. I was forced into the center of the room, while Larion and his father were hurled against two separate walls. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't. I wanted to move, but I couldn't. All I could do was stand there.
"Ah, Armand. I see you have found my daughter. Thanks for making my target easier, especially now that her wings will be coming in. I can wipe your family out as well," the darkest voice I've ever heard spoke from nowhere. Seconds after the last word, I was forced into the air. Red eyes soon met mine, and I had to gasp, simply out of fear. This was the man that wanted to kill me. Who knows what he's capable of.
"Leave her alone! She never did anything to you!" Larion shouted, struggling to get free. The dark eyes turned to him, and I knew something bad would happen if I didn't do anything. I used my own strength to push against his force, soon followed by a strong push. Next thing I knew, we were both on the ground. I looked at the man who was called my father, taking in details. He had long, black hair, much like my own. His clothes were completely black, though his cape was a deep scarlet. He ripped his cape off, glaring at me darkly. That's when I saw them, his wings. They, too, were black, bat-like as well.
"So this is the child stolen from me. Pity that she won't live much longer. She could be quite the beauty in a few decades," he said with a smirk. Oh how I longed to smack it right off his face. He walked over to me, picking me up roughly. "I'll have the pleasure of killing you just like I killed your mother, Nysa." Just as he raised his sword to my neck, a flash of fire separated us, burning his arms and hands.
"I won't let you touch her, Arthians!" Larion's mother shouted, a crystal sword pointed at him. I pulled away from him easily as he stared at her.
"Ah, Starlet. I was wondering when you'd get here," he said, once again smirking.
"Well, I'm here now, so prepare yourself!"
"I'd like to, but I must be going," he said, making a grab for me again. Somehow, Armand pulled me away safely. As Arthians slowly disappeared, I was wrapped in a huge hug from Larion.
"Are you alright?" he asked, loosening his grip to look down at me. I slowly nodded in response, right before collapsing into his arms. It was painful to move. Every time I tried, it felt like my back ripped open. He laid me down on my stomach, Armand soon kneeling next to us.
"Armand, you brought on the growth of her wings?" Starlet asked in surprise.
"Yes, her true power will also show soon," he responded, pressing down on my back. It hurt horribly, even causing tears to well up in my eyes. I'm not one to cry in front of people. Never have been, and never will be. I believe it opens a door of weakness to others, a door I never want open.
"Her true power?" Larion asked, taking my hand gently.
"Yes. All fairies, angels, demons, and other beings have certain powers. Her strength is a combination of fairy and demon, since she is obviously much stronger than her father. We have yet to see what she can truly do," came Armand's response. At this point, I just wanted to sleep. Shocking, isn't it? "Let's take her to the guest room, so she can rest." I liked that idea.
"We shouldn't move her. You surely remember how painful this is. Moving her would only cause her more pain," Starlet told him. I knew there had to be something wrong with the "let's let her sleep" plan. Damn.
"But it'd be better if she wasn't on the floor, mother. That seems more uncomfortable than anything," Larion said, looking at her. I hesitantly nodded in agreement.
"Please, I would like to get some sleep. It's pretty cold on the floor," I added, squeezing Larion's hand gently. Sighing, Starlet reluctantly agreed to moving me. Larion carefully helped me up and wrapped an arm around my waist to keep me upright. Together, we went upstairs to the guest room, stopping occasionally along the way. I laid on my stomach on the bed, not even looking around the room. Larion covered me carefully with the blanket, watching my back.
"Are you alright, my love?" he asked in a whisper.
"Yes, I'm fine. My back aches, but I'll be fine," came my reply, my body relaxing.
"Alright, I'll stay here while you sleep. I don't want you to roll onto your back or anything. Could be painful," he said, taking my hand once more. I simply nodded, closing my eyes.
"Larion, keep her safe," Armand told him as he entered. I didn't even move, too tired to even think about it.
"I'd never let her be hurt, father. Especially now. She said her back's aching right now," he replied softly.
"But Arthians will fight to get her alone. He's very strong, son. Just be careful. Your mother thinks he might come back soon to keep us on our toes."
"I know, father. I will keep her safe though."
"Okay. Just be careful. Have a nice rest, little Nysa."
"Thank you, sir," I replied tiredly. He chuckled, leaving the room quietly. Larion bent down and kissed my cheek softly.
"Rest, love. You're safe." I smiled, my eyes closed tightly. I soon drifted off to sleep, only remembering his soft kiss on my cheek.
I awoke the next morning, Larion asleep in a chair next to the bed. I let him sleep, not wanted to bother him at all. I closed my eyes again, wondering if I could get back to sleep. Seconds later, Armand entered the room once more, staying as quiet as he could. He gently touched my back, examining it greatly.
"Well, her wings will be marvelous when they emerge. That day, she'll be stronger than ever. She'll be more like her mother than ever, as well," he told himself. He pressed on my back, making me cry out in pain. "Oh, I'm extremely sorry, Nysa. I didn't mean to hurt you like that. I was just checking on your wings," he told me, gently rubbing the spot he pressed.
"It's okay, sir. I was awake anyway," I said, looking at him.
"I thought you were. I must apologize for that, though."
"It's okay, really."
"Well, this is an interesting wake-up call," Larion said, sleepily looking at both of us. I smiled, staying as still as possible. It truly hurt too much to move.
"That would be my fault. I'll get a wash cloth and a bowl of water. Her back will need to be cleaned up quite a bit," Armand said, leaving the room.
"Besides the pain, how are you doing, Nysa?" he asked me, leaning down and kissing my cheek.
Before I could answer, a deep cackle sent painful shivers down my spine. The next thing I knew, I was pinned to the floor, the blade of a sword to my neck. Oh, by the way, your life truly does flash before your eyes when you think you're about to die. That's some scary s**t.
"Move, and she dies, boy," Arthians said to Larion, not taking his eyes off of me.
"So, Nysa, are you ready to die?" he asked me, pressing the blade against my neck with more force.
"I will not die by your hands, father," I replied nastily, a dark tone in my voice. All of a sudden, the same force from earlier pushed him away from me, sending him across the room. Larion took this time to run to me and help me up.
"You little b***h! You're going to be just as much of a pain as your mother!" he shouted, dark energy surging out of him.
Have you ever thought that people always show up at the right moment? It's definitely awesome when it happens. Like the whole tackle out of the street thing Larion did for me. It happens a lot in my life. Shows, doesn't it?
Back to the story now. As Arthians was going to lunge at me, a bright silver light paralyzed him. Starlet slowly stepped into the room, her hand painted at Arthians the entire time.
"Larion, get her out of here now! Get her to your father!" she demanded. Larion nodded, scooping me up carefully. He ran out of the room, heading to his parents' room, simply as an instinct. Luckily, he was there.
"Dad, mom's---," he started.

Yeah, definitely need a title still. I've been writing a bit, but this addition will be shorter than the last one. Sorry ~~~ "Then we'll go tomorrow. You need your rest, after all, and you'll have a little packing to do, which I'll help with," he told me, happy that I agreed to the journey. I don't even remember what happened next. I must've fallen asleep or something. Heh, me, falling asleep? Like that would ever happen. I mean, sure, I fell asleep in my classes way back when, but who didn't? Anyway, back to the story before any more tangents come.
In the morning, after I woke up and had breakfast, Larion helped me pack some things I'd need for visiting his parents. He had told me to pack as lightly as possible. When my bag was full, he took my hand and pulled me closely.
"Just hold on tightly, Nysa. This may be a shock for you at first," he whispered to me. I nodded slowly and wrapped my arms around him tightly. Seconds later, a strong feeling of being tugged away came and went quickly. The next thing I saw was a gorgeous forest, and we were in the center. He held onto me for a few minutes, making sure I had my balance.
"Wow, this is beautiful," I said in amazement, looking around the forest.
"This isn't even my home yet. We have a short way to walk," he told me, smiling happily. "Though living in a city would cause that reaction."
"Well, duh! It's incredibly easy to get me amazed!" I looked up at him, smiling brightly. "Thank you..." I softly kissed him on the cheek before letting my eyes wander once more. He led me down a path, his arm wrapped around my waist. I couldn't wait to see him home, which was bound to be astonishing. He pulled back a line of weeping willow branches, which happens to be among my favorite trees.
I couldn't help but gasp. It was gorgeous! There were cherry blossom trees everywhere, along with every other type of my favorite trees. There were even more weeping willows, meaning secluded places galore. I definitely made a note of those as he led me towards his house.
"Now this'll be the biggest shock yet," he whispered into my ear, grinning. He led me around another large weeping willow. I gasped once again. Here I am, expecting to see itty bitty fairies floating around flowers, but it was nothing like that. It was like a mansion, a palace even. It was astonishing, and I couldn't tear my gaze away from it. "I take it you like it. Most people would be amazed, since it's nothing like those stories little kids are told," he said, leading me up to the door. As soon as he knocked, a woman answered the door.
"Larion! You're home! This is a magnificent surprise! Who is this beauty?" she asked, eyeing me. In my shyness (yes, I do have my moments), I lowered my eyes, holding onto Larion's hand tightly.
"Mom, this is Nysa Le. You know...Lenora and Arthian's daughter?" he said motioning towards me.
"Nysa?! I never thought she would be much older than 100!" She stepped towards me and gently lifted my chin. "She has her mother's eyes, but her father's hair color. Otherwise, everyone else would think you were her." Tears started to well up in my eyes as I stared into her bright silver ones.
"Mom, can we take this inside?" Larion asked softly, gently squeezing my hand. She nodded, leading us inside and closing the door behind us. This was the first time I saw her wings. They were a brilliant white, feathered as I had imagined. They were, in one word, marvelous. I continued to stare at them as she led us into their living room.
"I'll go get your father while you two relax," she told us before walking out of the room. ~~~ As I said, it's untitled, and shorter than the last one. I'll try updating it soon, but I'm rather busy now.

First story...need a title though |
|

This is the first story I'll put up. I typed it up earlier since our internet was knocked out. I'm still working on it, so it'll probably be going for a while. ~~~~~ Nysa Le wasn't like anyone else. You could tell by simply looking at her. Her skin was incredibly pale, while her hair was pitch black. Her eyes always sparkled like the amethysts that shared the color. Natural lilac eyes were definitely not common in New York City. At least she could walk around without looking like a total freak. Haven't you seen that "Naked Cowboy" on the streets of Time Square? Now that's freaky.
Well, let's just say my life wasn't easy. That's right. I'm the one and only Nysa Le. All that I'm telling you, or really about to tell you, is true and taken from my own life. First, more details. I lived in my own apartment, despite the fact that I look like a teenager. It was pretty expensive too, but I continued to pay for it. How? I still don't know, since I couldn't get many decent jobs. Who would want to hire someone that looks like me? Anyway, on with the story.
I had just gotten off of work. Fired, really. My walk home was rather slow, since I was thinking about what he had said to me.
"Too many customers are frightened away by you, Nysa. We can't afford to keep you working here," he said without any emotion, not even feeling sorry about it. I just walked out, staring at the floor. I should've just stared at the customers. That would've been hilarious, them running away from me.
People don't seem to realize that I'm truly a nice, kind, and gentle person. They just see my eyes and run for their lives. Am I really that scary to look at? I've never felt good about myself because people always treat me like this, as though I'm a monster.
"Hey, watch it!" I didn't hear him as my thoughts continued to wander, and I walked into the street. The only time I even looked up was when I heard a bus honking its horn ten feet away from me. Just then, a teenage boy ran out and pulled me out of the street, both of us falling to the ground. He landed on top of me, wincing painfully.
"Ow...," I whimpered, my eyes closed tightly.
"Sorry, but I tried to warn you," he said, slowly sliding off of me. He started checking my body, making sure I was alright. I opened my eyes hesitantly, meeting a pair of spectacular silver ones. Something about his eyes made me feel safe.
"Thank you for saving me," I told him as he pulled me up. He smiled warmly, checking my back for injuries.
"It was nothing. Someone else would've saved a beautiful girl if I hadn't," he whispered into my ear, chills running down my spine. My legs grew weak suddenly, and he seemed to realize it as he put an arm around my waist. "I'm Larion, by the way," he said, breaking me free from my thoughts.
"I'm Nysa. Nice to meet you, Larion," I replied, looking at him and smiling for the first time in years.
"Do you need help getting home?" he asked, his eyes piercing my own. I wanted to say no, afraid that he'd find out my secret. That's right, Nysa Le was about to turn down a hot guy. Not just any hot guy, a hot guy that saved her life. You might think I'm crazy, but I'm not done yet.
I was about to say no, but my body didn't listen. My head nodded, and his smile grew as he led me towards my apartment. Of course, I had to tell him which way to go.
"Nysa, I have a question for you," he began, locking eyes with me as we stepped onto the elevator.
"Y-yes?" I asked, afraid to know what the question was.
"Has anyone ever made you feel good about yourself?" The question surprised me. I was ready for questions about my appearance, but not for that.
"Well...no, not before you," I replied, looking down embarrassedly. He gently lifted my chin, causing our eyes to meet again.
"I'm glad to be the first," he whispered, smiling warmly. Then something happened that I thought was impossible. He pulled me closer and gently kissed me. I returned the kiss, my legs weak once again. This time, I would've collapsed if he wasn't holding me up.
"I have a question for you as well," I whispered, leaning against him gently.
"What is it?" he asked, looking down at me.
"Why are your eyes silver?" I was hesitant to ask, but I needed to know. He seemed hesitant to answer, as though he was afraid to tell me. I soon understood why.
"I'm a hunter. Not an ordinary hunter, though. I hunt demons and half demons," he replied, his eyes full of pain and sorrow. My eyes just widened as I gasped. "I knew you'd react this way," he said softly, loosening his grip on my waist.
"You...you know, then? You know I'm a mixed breed?" I asked, pushing the stop button on the elevator to keep us there.
"Yes, though I've never seen your type before. You might be the first demon and fairy mix in the world." Bet you didn't see that one coming. Now you know. Nysa Le is a mix, demon and fairy no less. That, perhaps, was the strangest combination around. "Nysa, I'm not here to kill you. I hope you don't think that," his voice shook me from my thoughts. Apparently, I had backed away from him, causing his worry.
"No, I actually hadn't though about that at all."
"Good, since I was sent to protect you. Your demonic father has already killed your mother, and he's vowed to come after you." I gasped, staring at him. My father? Coming after me? I didn't even know him! I've lived on my own since I can remember. Now some power crazy a*****e wants me, his own daughter, dead?!
By this time, I guess I had backed away from him to the other side of the elevator. I fully collapsed, him too late to catch me this time. He carefully lifted me up into his arms, my own wrapping around him tightly.
"It's alright, Nysa. I won't let him come close to you. I would never let anyone hurt you," he whispered in my ear, the feeling of safety and security rushing back to me. He pushed the button, starting the elevator again. He stepped out once we reached my floor, heading to my room immediately. "I might take you to my place for a while, just to make sure you're safe." I nodded to his words, still clinging to him. I was really ecstatic to have the whole floor to myself at this point. It made things a lot easier, since there was a single door that had to be locked, and he seemed to unlock that on his own. How? I don't have a clue.
He carefully laid me down on my bed, so I had to let go of him, unfortunately. I loved being in his arms. I felt so safe and calm, like I was actually loved. He seemed to realize this and laid down next to me, wrapping an arm around my waist.
"Nysa, I have a question. Hold old are you?" he asked, looking at me curiously. I had to tell him the truth, not like it mattered if he knew.
"I'm 144 years old. I only look 18 though," I told him, now wondering why that was. "How old are you?"
"160, or 20 in human years," he replied calmly. "I'm a mix of fairy and angel. My father knew your mother well, and my mother has sworn to kill your father since they were much younger. When we heard the news that Lenora was killed, I was sent to track you down and protect you. Course, I thought you were much younger and not as beautiful as you are. I would like to take you to see my parents. They would probably enjoy seeing you."
"I'd like that a lot. I've never even met a full-blooded fairy. I never even met my own mother," I said, smiling brightly. ~~~~~ Well, that's all I have for now. Feel free to comment, maybe even help me with a title.
