So...

I was skimming through my friends artwork on deviantart out of boredom, when I noticed this one photo she took when she was in Yosemite. It was a waterfall. Bridaveil Falls to be exact.

Well, if you don't know anything about that waterfall, it doesn't have a lot of water in the waterfall, but the rocks below are slippery, high up..probably about...400 ft up? Which is the base of the fall. You can climb on the rocks, but after my experience, I don't recommend it.

I was about 9, and we went to that waterfall. I was being happy go lucky and jumping from rock to rock, not knowing how high up I was, or how close to the edge I was getting. All of a sudden, I slipped, and I found myself on the edge, standing on my toes on a smidge, about an inch of rock, holding onto the other edge of the rock for dear life. (NOTE: I thought the thing was about 10 feet off the ground before I actually looked down.) All of a sudden, my dad rushes over to me, grabs onto my arms, and pulls me to safety. When I catch my breath, I look over the edge and nearly piss myself at how high up I actually was. You can definitely bet your a** I'm not climbing those rocks again.

God...if I actually fully slipped, I wouldn't be writing this right now. It makes me remember life is more precious than we think, and it can be taken in an instant. Knowing that my friend went to the same waterfall as I did, just kinda brought back memories tis all though...

And made me realise that wasn't my only near death experience either. I've had PLENTY others. Almost getting hit by cars more times than I like to count, stomach flu when I was 2 (which I'm questioning if it was swine flu instead. It would explain why I'm immune to it now), the cliff experience, and a few more, but I'm too lazy to list more.

It makes me think..I guess I'm still here for a reason. Especially after all this. It's not my time to die. That's good. I don't want to die. Ever. I know I will eventually, but when I do, I want my life to be lived to the fullest, and for me to carry out my main purpose in life.

I want to save lives and help others. I actually think that's my purpose in life. I love everyone in my life that I'm close to a hella lot more than they will ever be able to know. They've pulled me from the worst, and I'll always love them and be there for them.

They will always have a special place in my heart. <3

You know how people go into a theatre, they watch an action movie. They watch a murder movie. Etc etc. Then the movie ends, and story is over. They go back to their lives.

Yeah. Not for the people who live in ghettos. Not for the homeless people. The movie doesn't end for them. They can't walk out of the theatre, back to their car, and go back to their comfy home. They're stuck in the twisted reality in which they live in.

Generally people, when they look at a ghetto, they usually think, "Oh, this is a ghetto neighborhood because it's gang ridden and filled with trashy people." Generally when I look at a ghetto neighborhood, I think, "Oh, look at the ghetto neighborhood filled with gangs and people who have fallen on hard times."

You don't know their story. They could have been born into it. They could have gone into massive debt and become homeless. They could have gotten mixed with the wrong people and sucked into a certain lifestyle. The list goes on.

Why am I saying this? Well, I stayed with my friend Hannah for a night in downtown LA. I loved every second of staying there. I had an amazing time. It's truely an eye opener though. Where we stayed wasn't really a bad part of downtown. It was an artsy part that had a lot of history. The building next to us was abandoned and it had bullet holes in the glass. It makes me wonder what went down here that caused all the violence. The block we were on wasn't a bad block. A block up on Broadway St is really dangerous at night. It's kinda funny how black and white different blocks and parts of the city are..not even a full mile apart from eachother. (Not racially. I mean how different they are.)

And the next day, we decided to go to Little Tokyo, which was not even a full mile away. We were waiting for Hannah's mom to come to the right spot, and instead of parking, we decided to circle around a bit. We ended up missing the street where we go back on to be in Little Tokyo, and both of us, not knowing the area, decided to go back on 6th or 7th st back to San Pedro Ave. We wound up in Skid Row.

If you don't know what Skid Row is, that's okay. Skid Row is a district in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. It's an extremely ghetto and basically, slum of the slums type neighborhood. Extremely dangerous, especially at night. It also has one of the highest homeless populations in the country.

I've never seen so many homeless people on one street. It was saddening. Not just scary, but it actually really made me sad to see how many homeless people were in just one part. It's like that on every street, for the entire district of Skid Row. I saw at least 20 homeless people sitting on the concrete sidewalks as I drove by. I also saw quite a few thugs, but that's besides the point.

At night, a lot of homeless people set up tents on sidewalks to sleep in. If they don't have a tent, then they just sleep on newspapers. People are lucky to find food. They even have a bus that drops people back off and picks people up from Skid Row and takes them to a homeless shelter.

The crime/violence/drug rate there is also extremely high. They actually don't allow portapottys in that district anymore. Why you ask? People would use it as homes and "claim" them, they would rape people in them, murder/hide bodies in them, OD in there and die, etc. Also, there aren't even "homes" there. The best "home" you can get in the Skid Row district is a very cheap motel. If you're lucky to get that much.

What truely makes me want to give up on humanity is how little most people actually care. Most people don't even want to hear about this stuff because looking at the blunt reality is truely depressing and it shows how much of a shithole our world has become, or because they're just so self absorbed in their own little world and just honestly don't give a a rats a** about the way anyone lives but themselves.

Also, it's like, we try to help others in other countries, but we fail to notice the problems in our own country. No I'm not at all saying don't care about other people in other countries that need help. Actually really care about them too. But how can we fully be able to help someone else when we can't even fully help ourselves and our own people?

The whole experience was just an eye opener, and it personally really made me value all the blessings I have in life. Imagine having nothing. The only thing you own is the clothes on your back, and your body. Yeah, you can get disappointments, but it can always be worse.

I found this really REALLY funny joke online and I wanted to share it with...well anyone who reads this. :]

A plane crashes over the amazon, and there are three men aboard who jump with parachutes to safety, whilst they are trying to find there way to civilization, they come across a bunch of Native cannibal Amazonian tribesmen. They are then taken prisoner and brought before their chief, the Chief commands all of them to bring him ten fruits from the rain forest. The first man comes back with ten big bright red juicy apples, the chief then instructs the man to shove those apples up his rectum. The man does as such, or else he'll be killed. If he shoves all those fruit up his a**, the Savages will take him to a near by town where he will be flown back to his Native land. If he fails he will be slaughtered and eaten. So, the first apple, Ahhh, ahhh, and up it goes, the man's sphincters burst open and blood gushes profusely , the man faints, and shits out the apple with blood all over it, he is killed and made into a delicious barbarian's dinner. The Second man, cleverly see's what had happened to the first man. Noticing his mistake he picks 10 small itsy bitsy berries. As the 2nd man is shoving the berries up his a**, One, Two, Three, Four, Five Six, Seven, Eight, Nine,....He burst into laughter, shits out all the berries, and is immediately killed. So the two men meet up in Heaven, the 1st man asked the 2nd man, "Why'd you burst into laughter, you were so damn close to winning? The 2nd man replied, " I saw the 3rd guy walking back towards the tribe carrying 10 watermelons".
