Nice Work
This is a long overdue update. Nobody's reading it, just as I suspected. Oh well. School in the morning, not what I had in mind. I'd rather not be going, but we've all got to roll our sleeves up and hit that grindstone, eh? I'd rather sit on a porch and strum a guitar all day. Wishful thinking, but beautiful thinking nonetheless. I'm listening to a great Hey Mercedes song. It's called "Bells," and it rocks my world. I just bought the new CD by the Black Keys, called "Rubber Factory." It's the best CD I've heard since "Elephant," methinks. Go buy it as soon as you get your allowance, kids. I don't think you'll regret the purchase. Who's heard of the Boomtown Rats? "I Don't Like Mondays" is the anthem of a generation. One of these days, I'm going to write a musical based around the songs of Ben Folds and his Five (three). There's no reason for me to continue here, is there? Peace.

The Beginning
It's always been a challenge for me to write in a daily journal, so this will be discipline! Putting constraints upon yourself is important for developing your character and resolve. I'm not sure if anybody will ever read this, but I'll just keep writing, I suppose. The act of writing something out is a good release.
People show their blindness and unwillingness to accept reality more and more every day. After watching the presidential debates last night, I was anxious to hear what people thought and who would be declared the winner. Much to my surprise, many people honestly thought that John Kerry showed President Bush up and outdebated him. I really thought that Kerry was straggling for arguments. Some commentators said that Kerry solidified his platform on foreign policy, but all I heard him do was tear apart the Bush administration. He did say that he would open bilateral talks with North Korea, which I think is a mistake. He makes alliances such a huge business, but he will make it a point to disintegrate the talks with China and the other countries putting pressure on Korea. Does that make sense to you? And another good point Bush made was that other countries aren't going to open discussions with a president who denegrates the contribution of participating allies. Kerry almost made a point of snubbing Poland outright. That doesn't seem very cordial or diplomatic to me. I really want to know just how Kerry plans on getting our allies involved. I distinctly remember Bush going to the U.N. and to our ally countries and being turned down by many of them from the get-go. What makes Kerry think that they'll be jumping at the chance to join us now? If he could convince them, well then more power to him, but I just don't think it's a very feasible goal. Well, that's enough political ranting for now. I'll just hold my horses until next week's debate. The last debate is actually going to be in Phoenix, just a hop skip and a jump from my hometown of Tucson, but I didn't get tickets and they're sure to be long sold out by now. Oh well. Thanks for reading! Slainte!
