Honestly, Ok
His skin. It was a window into his mind, and even his heart. It was a passageway that when touched with her own, opened up a world that he desperately tried to keep hidden. Maybe that’s why Kitty loved kissing him. The feel of Rinji’s lips against her own, even in the barest of brushes brought on a wave of emotion, all of it his. And she knew he could feel hers, and read them, knowing just what passed through her thoughts.
Kiss one; he was worried about something, she could tell. His kiss wasn’t hesitant, but the emotion that flooded her for that brief moment made her frown. Kiss two; he was trying to hide it. He knew she could feel his concern. He could taste it on her. That was the way his gift worked. He could feel your emotions by touching your skin, and he could make you feel his.
Kiss three; still hiding it. She felt nothing from him this time. Kiss four; a gentle happiness, a relief. This was voiced by the soft sigh that escaped Rinji’s throat, his breath against Kitty’s mouth.
It made her giggle. “What’s wrong?” she cooed, looking into his tri-colored eyes. It always amazed her how the brown around his pupil swam with the blue and flecks of green.
“Nothin’,” He replied, pale, thin lips curling into that impish smile of his. “Why?” He laid a hand on Kitty’s thigh, rubbing gently. The fabric of her skirt bunched and stretched with every stroke of his hand.
“You just seem nervous about something…” Kitty spoke softly, shifting her gaze to his hand. She pressed her to it, stroking the knot of his wrist with her thumb. She hoped he’d share his feelings with her. But, she knew he’d read that. That she was searching for that piece of himself he was covering.
Though it wasn’t hard. He just had to choose not to share his emotions with a simple thought. However, no one could simply switch off their emotions when under his touch. That was out of their control. He could read everything. Down to the very subtlest emotion that the last lingering thought in the back of one’s mind evoked.
Rinji gave a small chuckle, squeezing Kitty’s leg. “Na, Nyanko-chan. You worry about me too much.” He kissed her earlobe, sending a flash of lust that made Kitty shiver. “I’m alright, really.”
Kitty smiled, and let it be. He’d always say that. He’d let her feel what he was feeling eventually. He always did. She was his outlet. He had to let her know before he overflowed.
But even she wasn’t strong enough to handle the effects of his negative emotions when they grew too strong, and finally burst through his carefully constructed walls.
Though she hated to touch him during those times. Those playful eyes filled with such rage or such sorrow, or even some sickening mixture of both. If their skin touched, the wave of emotion would be unbearable. It would crash over her, sending a shock to her mind. The synapses of her brain couldn’t process them fast enough. It would send her into shock, and cause her body to go into seizures. And if the touch wasn’t broken… she could die… That was how his gift worked… that was how his curse worked…
She must have been frowning as she thought about it, for she felt his finger press just under her chin, tilting her face up to meet his eyes. His brow was furrowed, but she knew before she looked at him just what he was wondering. She smiled at him, which made him smile, and that relief wash over her again.
Kiss five. It was tender, full of love, and a rich, wonderful emotion for which there were no words to express…
