I was at work the other day, and it occured to me that what i was doing, working there, was completely meaningless. I work at a County Market and doing so has no value to the rest of mankind or the Earth. This made me think deeper still...Why does anyone work? Working at jobs like County Market has no "greater good" or any benefit for the worl and itsw people. Then I thought about other jobs...teh military, hospitals, firefighters, ect. Those are the jobs that help people. Or they atleast impact people! So why do people do "regular jobs" at all? ...To survive. But if we're only making money to survive, then can't we just throw away all technology and return to the basic way of living from thousands of years ago?! No, we have to get what we want, and live comfortably. I am in NO way saying I'm above this...but, do we as humans deserve such luxuries? The same technologies that make life "comfortable" and "easy" and "better" also help us destroy each other! If this is the only significance of technology then shouldn't we return to our most basic of instincts and just fight with our own hands? We're all just cowards, killing eachother with the push of a button, then sitting back from a sage distance and watching. If we're going to behave like animals, killing each other, we we should atleast do it with our own hands, or swords, and IN PERSON! Projectile weapons (such as missiles, torpedos, bombs, and long range guns) are for the weak! Presidents are weak! Sitting back from a sage distance, sending out, sacrificing numerous lives for whatever ideal is in their feeble little mind. Because of this, we as humans can trust no man, especially "leaders." Or am I just expecting too much from people? Expecting anything from leaders, or people in general, is a silly notion. Eventually, everyone lets you down...who do you turn to then? When everyone has disapointed you. Who do you put your faith in then? Who do you hope or expect to rise above their instincts? The fact of the matter is, we're no more "evolved" than animals! Scientists and philosophers speak of the potential of our species. But how will we ever reach our potential if we can't even rise above our basic instincts to fight and destroy?
