Well here was the day I was dreading...the first day of school, for my freshman year anyway.
It was a new school too! My parents moved us to a new town in the middle of nowhere. We moved to southern Washington because my parents wanted to try to forget what...what happened to my sister and I last year.
No one could make me forget what I did to her.
I walked up to the front of the school thinking about this, tears streaming down my face.
I hurried and wiped them off with my sleeve and pulled out my class schedule.
I started walking, looking for my first class in building 400.
I wasnt sure where it was. And why would they have buildings numbered? They were so hard to find.
I looked quickly at my schedule again and I felt my shoulder shove backwards and looked up to see who I ran into.
He had curly brown hair, and hazel eyes that stared at me in wonder.
Once I realized that I hit him and got my thoughts togehter, I mashed my words in an apology,"Oh! I'm sorry. D-did I hurt you?"
He smiled at me as I hurried to gather my fallen papers. "Yes, I'm alright," he grinned again and took my schedule.
"Oh, you're new. Let's see your classes." He quickly glanced over my paper.
"You have most of my classes Lindsey," he smiled softly. "How did you know my name?" I stared at him with confusion.
He was so cute, but I had to keep my brain focused. If I didn't he would think I was mentally challanged or something. And I can't afford to lose friends now.
He handed me back my paper and laughed," It was on your information." He took my wrist and led the way," I'll show you."
I blushed by I was hoping he didnt see. I cant lose it and only concentrate on boys. I have to stay focused on better and more important things.
But I couldnt help but being with him. I just met him...and my heart was suffocating me by being in my throat.
He chuckled warmly and let go of my hand as we reached class. "You can sit next to me if you want. Im already the loner in class."
He smiled and sat in the back row of the class; i flushed as i seen one empty chair next to him. I quietly walked to the back of the class and sat next to him.
"So how do you like it here so far Lindsey?" he asked me, looking at me with curious eyes.
"Its alright. Its really big though." "Yea but once you settle, you wont lose your way."
I looked at him and smiled as sweetly as i could, and his answering smile knocked the breath out of me.
"Hey Jordan! Oh, whos the new girl?" I heard someone ask.
I turned and there was a puckered up, baby faced boy smiling down at me. And he was standing close to me. Really close. Too close for me.
I gently scooted my chair away from the table, purposly closer to the other boy.
"Oh hi Eric. This is Lindsey Park, shes new here. Lindsey this is Eric and I forgot to introduce myself as well."
When I turned he smiled at me and shook my hand.
"I'm Jordan Collins. Welcome to our high school."
And that was the first day...I actually learned how to love again.
