Physical Description: Thin and frail in appearance, almost looks to be a bit sickly. Her cheeks are sparsely speckled with freckles and have a rosy tint to them, the only color in her milky skin. Pretty pink lips. Deep emerald eyes with specks of gold. Loose, flowing fiery red hair that reaches mid back. Often it is tied up into pigtails on either side of her head. A light and faded scar can be found on her chest, closer to the left breast. It seems to be quite old.
Wardrobe: Sophie has such diverse taste it was no surprise for her to be proper and lady-like one day, and then the next in tatters. But now she no longer has the luxury of a place to store her clothing, and has settled on a simple outfit. The top is a light, sandy brown color and is made in the style of a corset without the boning (as she has troubles breathing as it is!). The front has brass buttons all the way down. It is strapless with a pocket on either side near the bottom of the shirt. The hem of her skirt ends a few inches above her knees, and the material is silky and soft. The base of the skirt is a deep dirt brown with lighter brown pinstrips running down its length. Her eclectic style is apparent as a few other patterns have been added onto the skirt, also pinstriped and silky, but different in color. There is lace detailing along the top of the skirt, and beneath it she wears a worn and tattered pink petticoat. Plain black stockings cling to her thin legs with one gray patch over her right knee. For footwear, she has lace-up black boots with a pointed toe. They appear a bit worn, but do their job in keeping her feet warm and dry. They have only a kitten heel. For colder weather she has a thick black button down jacket with puffed sleeves.
Accessories: Black leather gloves that go just past her elbow. Does not often wear these and keeps them in her bag. Around her waist is a leather belt with a bag, and inside she has the remainder of her medications. They're primarily to ease pain and to stave off her symptoms. Her other bag is much larger, and hangs over one shoulder across her chest. It is a brown leather, with various pockets and straps. On the front is an old and worn emblem, of which she does not know the meaning. An old and scuffed gold locket containing a photo of her father on one side, and her mother on the other.
Personality: Outspoken and wild to match the vivid coloring of her hair. Has her own opinions and keeps to them. Stubborn. Courageous. Proud. Despite this, she is very withdrawn and keeps her secrets and past locked up inside. Does not trust others easily. Uses humor to hide her fear, pain and personal problems. Once befriending someone though, she is loyal and sweet, albeit in a mischevious and playful manner, often teasing those she is fond of. For her age, she is quite mature.. but often hides it behind a childish mask. Thirsty for knowledge and adventure, she aspires to travel the world and meet many, especially one who can help her current problem. Sophie is very protective of her cat Thomas, who follows her everywhere and will come to her when called.
History: Sophie has been sick from the day she was born. She was born with a heart defect, more specifically a ventricular septal defect. This has greatly reduced her quality of life, and she was a burden to her parents more than anything. Even still, they cherished her and did all they could do to aid her condition.. which wasn't much as they aren't a very wealthy family. But this didn't change the fact that she could not live a normal childhood. She would run out of breath far too quickly, and would often pass out. Every so often, her skin becomes grey in color (cyanosis) due to the lack of oxygen.
Because of this, Sophie grew up alone and quickly became a bitter person. No doctor could help her. She grew up knowing at a moment's notice she could die. It was only recently the girl snapped out of her negative state. If she was to die at any given moment, why waste her precious life being wicked and loathesome to others who had been born in good health? Immediately, a change was evident in the girl, and she now nearly overflows with vibrance and life. This sudden burst of motivation brought about an idea, one she'd never bothered to even think of before: Why sit around here if nobody was here to help? Why not go travel the world to find someone who COULD help her? So her mind was set. Plans went into motion. When the proper time had struck, Sophie ranaway from home with only a small bag of personal belongings, food, and her cat Thomas - to board a ship at the docks and stow herself away. She would miss her family terribly, but this was for her own well-being.. or it was, at least how she saw it.
Belongings/Possessions:
Smaller Bag - Medication in the form of pills, powders and liquids in vials. Very important and precious to her. It also contains her small amount of money, which she has to often steal from others. Outside of this small bag is a black holster attached to her belt which contains a gold-coloured pocket flintlock pistol.
Larger Bag - Her jacket and gloves. A few photos of family. Trinkets and valuables that she pawns when need be. Small supply of food for herself and Thomas.
Misc. - Around her upper right thigh is a sheathed dagger for her own protection.
