Well its almost summer vacation.
Twenty more days I think... (woot) I'm probably going to fail my planning and math class but thats okay.
My friend and I where just talking about how there is so much we'd like to go and see in the States, but we'd rather not have to go to the states... yeah....
Then we got to talking about the Hitch Hickers Guide to the Galaxy, as my friend is a HUGE fan (She was a fan of the books and radio series before she was a fan of the movie, and just to let you know... the radio series, the movie and the book are all COMPLETELY DIFFERENT)
Anywho, since many people in North America where stupid and miss took Ford Prefect's name as a misspelling they thought that it was suppoesed to be 'Ford Perfect', you know, like the truck?
Well it is true that that character is named after a vehicle, but not a Ford. In Britan there is a vehicle called a Ford Prefect and that what he was named after.
As The Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy was MUCH more popular in England then it was in the states me and my friend got to talking about England, which we knew surprisingly little about. My friend ended up accidentally calling it 'Britland' as a combination of England and Britan. Then I shortly afterwards called it the same thing...
We had a good laugh and just decided to keep calling it 'Britland' and now, we are much more eager to visit Britland then we are of visiting the States (no offence but the states, at the moment, are not a very appealing place to visit sweatdrop )
So now me and my friend are planning, when we are older, to take a trip to the wonderful world of Britland xd
