I think I'm a sexy girl.
Justic is Served
Justice is served

If a family member, friends, classmates, or a co-worker was to be slaughter or raped most people would want them to be punished. And they will be, the law in the United States of America allows the government to execute all dangerous criminals. Justice will be served. The death penalty, also known as capital punishment, has other purposes besides justice. Reasons like keeping others safe, and enforcing the law.
The death penalty is a punishment reserved for the serious criminals who the United States cannot allow for them to live. Executing those criminals will make sure that no more innocent people will be killed by them every again. “If it is clear that a person is guilty of murder, then that person should be sentenced to death. Justice must be served. Placing murderers in prison isn't a tough enough punishment. In jail they would have a possible chance for parole. If they happen to make it back out to the world, who's to say s/he wouldn't kill again?” (Abel Martinez) The possibility of the serous criminals prowling the streets of America is a frightening one. “This means additional people had to die before these murderers were sentenced to death. What kind of justice is that? If the murderers were sentenced to death the first time they were convicted, innocent lives would not have had to perish. By executing the murderers the first time a round, justice will be served.” (Abel Martinez) Keeping the death penalty will ensure that the public is safe.
Not only does capital punishment keep the deadly criminals off the streets but it also enforces the law. And it just so happens that the death penalty is the law. “The term murder is specifically defined in any dictionary as the unlawful killing of a person with malice and aforethought.” (Wesley Lowe, Clichéd arguments against capital punishment paragraph 4) The death penalty enforces the law and in turn teaches other possible criminals that there is a price to pay to kill others. Enforcing the law will make criminals take responsibility for their actions! “More timely enforcement of the death penalty would help to reduce the crime problem by instilling a sense of respect for the law in that sentences are more than words on a page. Crimes carry consequences which should be understood.” (Jana Wofford)
(transition) Capital punishment solves a lot of problems that life imprisonment doesn’t solve. The most common argument against the death penalty, and one of the main reasons why people don’t support it, is the cost. First off the cost, “This is a good point that has a lot of impact on a lot of people's views regarding capital punishment since they are the ones footing the bill through taxes. I personally would not mind paying the little bit extra just so I know for sure that there's one less murderer on our planet.” (Jon Manning) There are ways to get around the costs for the death penalty. One way is to only execute criminals who have killed or raped more than a certain number of people. Setting restrictions on whose case or appeal will be heard in the court. Cutting back on court cases and appeals will lower the cost. What adds to the cost is what method people use to execute. Lethal injection costs more because of the chemicals, if it was changed back to a shooting squad there would be less money spent. Just merely changing the method people are executed will save the government, and the people, thousands of dollars! There are other reasons why people don’t accept the death penalty.
The death penalty is the best solution to punish serious and dangerous criminals. Executing them keeps them off of the streets (public safety), and enforcing the law. Insuring the safety of this nation’s citizens is a priority of the United States government. A huge reason why people disagree with the death penalty is because they haven’t looked it up or asked questions. One way to solve this is for all the people to get educated in this matter. Capital punishment is legal for the United States government and should stay legal.
