Hello and welcome back to today's show of... Drum roll please.... "What Has the World Come to?"
My name is Purple Milk and I am your host today and all of the rest of the days! I would like to start off by saying Thanksgiving was one heck of a weekend. Lets start off with some health tips to let you lose the weight of all the turkey and yummy stuffing!
One tip that can help you lose weight is...
Pull out the blender.
This is one of the best and least-known discoveries of professor Barbara Rolls, PhD, author of The Volumetrics Eating Plan. Rolls found that study subjects who drank smoothies and other drinks blended for at least twice as long as necessary ate 12 percent less?—?and felt fuller—than those who drank beverages blended for a shorter period. Why? Blending is a no-calorie way to increase serving size by adding air. Adding low- or no-cal ingredients to entrees (such as lettuce and tomato on top of turkey burgers or alongside broiled fish) has a similar effect: They work by increasing the amount of water instead of air.
Hmm, I must have placed my blender in the back somewhere...
Some quotes...man these things crack me up!
Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
It takes 46 muscles to frown but only 4 to flip 'em the bird.
And my favorite one so far...
"Behind every successful man is a surprised woman." - Maryon Pearson
You got to love those quotes!
Fun facts...well not fun. Some interesting facts.
75% of people FAVOR the Death Penalty.
Amazing things you can find when you are stuck researching a topic with a group of idiots. Not naming any names except a kid who goes by Austin.
One of the reasons that the Pledge, you know the one you say everyday to the flag in AMERICA, MIGHT be changed, is because the "UNDER GOD" part wasn't in it when the Pledge was first wrote.
Social Studies sure does help me when I am typing a news report!
Now those amazing news!
San Francisco's decision to ban plastic bags. Har har. BAN plastic bags. I see that you litter a lot with PLASTIC bags, but hey! They are asking people to bring their own bags or get paper. They say that only 1 or 2% of those bags are being recycled. Uh oh...that is bad folks!
Here is a little tip. Put all of your plastic bags into one place. When you need to use one for...lets say the small garbage can in your room...grab one from that stash! It makes it a lot easier! Also, PAPER bags are an amazing invention! Use a cart if you can't properly grip the bag.
That is it for today. It's shorter because of this thing called school. I hope to report a new news cast next week!
