As I awaken, I could feelmyself moving. My Onii-sama was carrying me on his back as he darted through the forest.
"Ambaru-onee. Your alright." he smiled, "I'm glad your O.K."
He continues to dash through the leaves and then he hears someone in the distance. Its a saurian!
"Damnit!" he yells as he trys to turn to a different direction. The saurian wasn't alone in his hunt. We were surrounded!
"Hehehe! Come 'ere boy! We don' wanna 'urt ya, we just want that there neko girl on yer back!" the saurian chuckled, "Hand 'er over!"
"Bastards! Your never gonna have my Onee-chan!" Rhombus screamed as he dodged their attacks.
"You done asked for it boy!!" another saurian yelled, "DIE!!"
The saurian threw his axe at Rhombus, but he jumped onto another saurian's back and into the trees.
"Hehe, dumb asses...." Rhombus snickered. Just as he thought we were going to get away, another saurian jumped out of the trees and grabbed me from his back.
"ONII-SAMA!!!!" I cried as the saurian hissed at me.
The saurian began to speak, "Yer a tasty one, that you are." he laughed as he licked my face, "Yer gonna be perfect. Hehehe."
"ONII-SAMA, HELP ME PLEASE!!" I cried louder. I tried to pull away, but I was knocked out by the other saurian.
"ONEE-CHAN!!! ILL SAVE YOU. I SWEAR I WILL!!" He shouted as he cut through three of the lizards blocking his path.
It was too late, though. I had already been taken far away from him. All that remained was one saurian that stayed behind to kill him.
"YOU SLAUGHTERED MY KIN, BOY!!!" The lizard growled, "NOW YOU DIE 'ERE!!"
He then grabbed Rhombus by the neck and raised his axe. Just as he swung, a windmill shuriken sliced off the lizard's arm. As it turned around to see where the weapon came from another headed for his face.
"YOU!" It said just before the blade cut through his face.
In the distance was a grey kitsune yokai dressed in black. She smiled as she tugged on some kind of invisible line that pulled the blades back to her.
"Leave this place." She said coldly, "And dont come back until you can hold a blade....." She then vanished.
Rhombus was in shock. He couldn't move and his legs hurt from running so long. "Ambaru-chan.........Gomenasai......I didn't protect youlike Oka-san told me to." he mumbled, "Forgive me....." he passed out on the ground and slept.
Later That Night.......
I woke up in a small cell. I could smell the stench of lizard in the air. I feltsickand cold. I looked up and saw a lizard on a bucket sleeping. He snored loudly as he slept.
I looked down and saw a little bit of water in a cup that was dirty and cold,...unfit to be drunk. As I looked around, I noticed that the bars looked big enough to squeeze through. So, taking some of the dirty water, I rubbed it on the bars and pulled myself out of the cell.I almost landed on the sleeping saurian though, and I slowly breathed a sigh of relieve when I caught myself.
It was very dark. Luckly for me, I could see with my luminecent eyes. As I cotinued through the forest, my legs got tired and I was hungry. The cold air nipping at my heels and feet. I cried as I walked. Thinking about my Onii-sama, I continued on.
I then saw a hut in the distance and my hopes rose. My senses alert as I smelled rice and chicken, vegetables, and miso soup. I could hear a crackling fire as well.
Walking closer, I then saw a grey kitsune standing at the back of the hut. She was staring at me and she looked displeased. I was scared but I hissed at her and pulled out a kunai my brother put in my kimono. She then looked sad.
"Don't worry young one, I will not hurt you." She said softly, "Come here, dahlin'."
She walked towards me and took the blade from my hand. She then wrapped a warm quilt around me and brought me inside her hut. She kindly sat me down and then smiled, "I'm Kitsune Shu-Kiba. But you can call me, Kitsune-sama."
My lips were cold and frozen. I couldn't open my mouth to reply soI heldmyhead down.
"Poor dahlin'. Your so cold and your probably hungry too." she said, "Come with me."
She took me to a large tub and poured hot water into it. As she undressed me, she saw my bandages. Then when she removed them, she saw my dragon tattoos. She then looked interested.
"Your that girl......" she said, "Felicia's daughter......" She then paused. "Get in, dahlin' and Ill help you bathe."
She slowly washed the dirt from my body and then untangled my hair. Washing my hair she began to ask questions.
"How old are you, dear?" she questioned.
Finally my lips weren't frozen shut anymore...... so I answered, " I'm six years old, ma'am." She laughed at me.
"When is a six year old so formal? Ahahahaha!" she just kept chuckling. "I'm sorry, dahlin'. Your just more polite then most of the children I've met. Ummm....Do you have any family?"
I didn't answer because it was too painful for me. I just asked, "Can I eat please? Im sorry, but I'm so hungry." I laughed as I spoke. She seemed dissapointed that I didn't answer her question. She gave me a silk kimono with a beautiful pheonix (hoh-oh) on it. She then prepared Miso soup and rice. My heart jumped as she placed the food infront of me.
"I make the best miso soup in all of Japan!" Kitsune-sama shouted sweetly.
I took my first sip and I was in heaven. It was so delightful and delicious. As I ate more of I began to think of my Onii-sama.......
"Well, what do you think dahlin'? Ain't it the----" I cut her off.
"My brother, Rhombus.......I got seperated from him...." I finally replied to her earlier question.
She then replied silently, "I see....."
"The saurians......they.......*sniff*" I began to cry, "They took me from him....I'm all he had.....hes all I had....." My tears kept falling. I couldn't stop crying.
"Thats enough, dahlin'. You dont have to say anymore......" She held me close to her and rubbed my head gently, "Its O.K. Just sleep now."
As her soft voice met my ears, my eyes closed and I slept and I drempt of my family.......before all this......
