Chapter 8
Zero and Sasuke were running from something. Something that was chasing them. Something that wanted them dead. "What's going on, Zero?" Sasuke asked with a frightened look in her eye. "Some thing's coming after us. It's not The Dark One or Mercy. I don't even know what it is." Zero responded, keeping an eye on the princess. They were running at a fairly good pace, but whatever was chasing them was not letting up. Zero had a focused look in his eye. He had asked The Creator earlier that day to make a portal when he sent out a signal. It was a portal that lead back to Sasuke's dimension. He quickly turned around and stopped in an open part of the field. Sasuke ran for a few more moments before she realized that Zero had stopped. She turned and began to run back to him. "Zero, what're you--" She began to say, but stopped as soon as she saw the thing that was chasing them. All it was was a cloud of darkness. She gasped and continued to run, right into a portal. Before it closed, she tried to call out to Zero. "No! Zero!" Zero didn't look back as the portal closed. "Come and face me you monster!" He yelled, moving into attack.
Present Time - 6 Months Later
Justice exploded with a supersonic wave of speed, knocking Sayago down. "It looks as though I have the upper hand." He said, watching Sayago get up, ignoring a bruise on her shoulder. "I see then. This will be the final blow." She said, throwing her bow to the ground. She formed a fiery silver bow from her energy. She pulled the string back and a gigantic silver bow formed. Justice watched, ready to counter. She let the large, silver arrow fly. It moved so fast that from the moment it left her bow it became a thin strand, returning to its original size moments before it hit Justice. But he did not get knocked backwards or get knocked down. He had grabbed the top of the arrow with both hands, throwing it down. Sayago looked a little surprised as the silver bow disappeared. "It's over." Justice said from behind her, moving so quickly that Sayago had no time to react. He slammed her down into the ground and placed his hands in front of him. All the golden energy moved towards his hands and he lost the golden glow. "May you rest forever in eternal darkness. Rest in peace, souless girl Sayago." He said, firing a large beam of golden energy at her. She did nothing but lay and watch as she was destroyed. "So he is what The Creator wanted... he is the perfect warrior." She thought, using her last moments in Z3R0 observing him. The battle was over; Justice had won and had lived to fight another day. All the secrets of his power were immediately shown to him through a Revelation. He had achieved his ultimate power. He fell down to the ground, smiling and losing consciousness.
Hope still hadn't answered Zero when the battle had finished. The three quickly ran over to Justice, who for once in his life looked very pleased with himself. "It's over... good. But it looks as though Justice used all of his energy; he'll die if we don't do anything!" Zero said, trying to keep a serious face. The Creator appeared near them with Legend. "Hey Hope. Like the prank we pulled on you?" He asked, smirking. Hope was crying a little but got angry as well. "That doesn't matter right now! Big brother Justice is dieing!" She yelled. The Creator covered his ears and opened them again as he walked over to Justice, who was barely breathing. "The real Sayago recognized him as the perfect warrior... she told me I'd make one one day and I guess I did." He said. Without saying anything else, he filled Justice full of energy before disappearing with Legend. Justice awoke and was breathing fine as of now. He got up and Hope hugged him. Princess Sasuke looked happy as well, but didn't say anything. Justice winced as Hope hugged him. "That hurt, little sister. My energy may be back but my wounds are still fresh." He said. Zero sighed out of relief. "Now that that's over with, Justice, I need to tell you that I can't travel with you anymore. I'm going to stay with Sasuke in the castle near SYN, which The Creator gave us rule over." He explained. Justice looked over at Hope. "What about you, little sister?" He asked with a calm voice. "Well... uh... I haven't decided yet!" She mumbled, turning a little red.
For the next hour Hope thought about who she should go with. Justice sighed. "Listen, Hope. You don't want to go with me;" He began. "I cannot guarantee one hundred percent of the time and it would be very dangerous for you, especially if I ever went back to my instincts. You will be safer with Sasuke and Zero. They will protect you with their lives and you will have food, shelter, and guards all the time." He said. Hope was tearing up. "Bu-but big brother..." She cried softly, walking towards him slowly. Zero's head was hung towards the ground, but there was clearly some tear drops falling. He managed to say "Don't die, big brother." with a normal voice.Hope was now hugging Justice, sobbing into his chest. "No! Justice! Come with us!" Justice looked down at her with unusually soft eyes. "Zero, don't worry about The Dark One or Mercy." He said. "But I'm sensing another dark presence with them... you may want to watch your back." He added, looking at his little brother."I'll- I'll have The Creator make a portal to our castle, just in case you ever need my help." He said, looking up with tear-filled eyes and a smile. Sasuke was also crying at this point, burrying her face into Zero. Justice looked up into the sky and back at Zero before saying a few final words. "Good-bye, Zero, angelic human of Z3R0, adept warrior, my little brother, and my closest friend." Zero extended his hand for a hand-shake before saying, "And good-bye, Justice, angelic warrior of Z3R0, my big brother, and my closest friend." Justice took his hand and shook it. "May we all meet somewhere in the future." He said before disappearing in a large gust of wind.
Hope was still crying for several minutes after Justice left. She fell to her knees and was sobbing uncontrolably. Zero walked over to her, leaving Sasuke to wipe her tears away. "C'mon, Hope. We need to get to the castle." He said, trying to maintain his upbeat attitude. Hope quickly got angry with him. "How can you just stand there and say that? Justice is gone and I may never see him again!" She yelled, crying again. Zero suddenly hugged her and whispered into her ear, "Shh... it's okay. Justice will be fine. After all, he is our big brother. He'll come back." Hope calmed down a little, still sniffling. "Al-alright. Le-let's g-go then." She managed to choke out through the tears. Zero looked over at the princess. "Do you think you could keep up with me?" He asked. "I'm going to carry Hope. She still needs to comfort." Sasuke nodded, still completley silent. Zero picked up Hope and they took off. They traveled in silence for a good while, not wanting to ruin the intense drama. In a matter of minutes they had reached the City of SYN. They walked up to the castle, the guards greeting them joyfully. "Zero, I never got to ask you why this was called the City of SYN." Sasuke said, looking around. Zero sighed. "It's a fairly long story. But I guess there's no time like the present to explain it." He said. "It all began when The Creator needed three people to protect the good..."
