NEVER SEEN NEVER HEARD

always second best
cared about less,
never seen, never heard
isn't it absurd?
a person so unique
who will never pique
the interest of others
because no one bothers,
not pretty enough....
learning to be tough.
hiding tears
avoiding mirrors.
never seen, never heard
hasn't it occurred
that a person so caring
will deal with staring?
head trained to floor
listening to the roar
of students passing by
trying not to cry,
not wanting to be weak
even though the future's bleak.
never seen, never heard.
how does everyone prefer
the reality of this
not caring if they miss
a person's pain
or if their will to live wanes
and they're the cause
she's thrown in death's jaws.
caught in their own world
not caring about the insults that are hurled
never seen, never heard
isn't it absurd?
