Lycaon was an early tyrant. He refused to worship the gods. Zeus disguised him self as a mortal man to see how bad Lycaon was. Zeus told Lycaon's people that he was a god, and they began to worshiped him. But Lycaon did not and mocked the disguised Zeus. He wanted to set up a test. He wanted to kill Zeus to prove he was not a god. He also wanted to pollute Zeus by having him eat forbidden food. Lycaon took a prisoner, (or in some accounts his own infant son), and served him in a stew. When Zeus saw the meat, he struck the food from the table. then, he sent a thunder bolt flying into the ceiling and destroyed the palace. Lycaon escaped the destruction and ran to the hillside. He tried to call for help, but snarled instead. Lycaon transformed into a wolf by Zeus's will. Lycaon is linked to the Werewolf of Lycanthrope. But unlike other werewolves, hes change was permanent.
