I just don't get it,
What's going on in my world.
Maybe it's the stress,
The 'laps' I have to run
And the hoops I have to jump,
But there's something amiss.
There's something that I lack
And it's something
The world won't let me have.
I can see that now and forever.
It's been right there,
Just a breath away,
I've just never seen it.
Perhaps that's my fatal flaw.
I never see the things
That I want and need
Until they slip between the cracks
Off into the infinity that is
The wonderless place of Lost Regret.
It's not fair,
For the world to hold me up.
The people in it aren't meant for that.
A single drop calls,
One drop that's slipped into that place.
Forever calling and never to return.
