When I got to my next class I sat in my seat. I didn't see him, which I was glad. The class went smoothly without him and when class was over someone came over to my desk. I didn't smell him but a human who has been in pain and suffering for a while. Then she said in a low murmur that human hears can't hear," Hi." " Uh...hi." I never looked up. " What do you want?" " Well I......Man this is hard." " Why is that?" "I don't really talk to people all that much. This is so new to me. Anyway, I saw you talking to Adrian and I was wondering why." "Who?" "You don't know his name. You were talking to him all day. Well, he was mostly talking to you. He never told you his name?" "No. Nobody tells me their name around here." "Oh right. My name is Airi. It may sound weird but it really isn't." " I don't think it's weird." " Thanks. So......why was Adrian talking to you?" "I don't know. Why do you want know?" "Adrian is the most popular kid in school. Why would he choose to talk to you instead of the popular girls?" "How am I supposed to know. I think he said we're alike but I don't believe him." "That's weird. Hey, why won't you look up?" I just shrugged and then I could smell him coming. "I have to go," was all I said before I sped out of the room trying to keep a human pace. Then something grabbed my arm and turned me around. "Can't you ever stop bugging me?" "No." "Why didn't you ever tell me your name and that you were most popular kid in the school?" "It never came up. I didn't bring the popular thing up because I thought you wouldn't talk to me." I'm still not talking to you you know." "I know." " Can't you see I don't want any friends. I might hurt them." "How" "One, because of my powers. Two, because they might think I'm ignoring them since I can't let them look into my eyes. Thirdly, I could kill them. Their blood tastes delicious but I have to fight it every day. It's killing me Adrian. I can't take it. Your heart is......" I could smell Airi coming towards our conversation. I could hear her heart pumping as if something scared her half to death. Then I see her. I backed away and almost darted for the door but then stopped. "What do you mean you might kill us? What about your eyes? What do you mean our blood tastes delicious? You have to fight what every day?" "Airi. Why were you listening to me?" " I wanted to see what was up. Now tell me what your talking about." " I can't Airi. I can't tell anyone." "Then why did you tell him?" I opened my mouth to speak but Adrian spoke first. "Mia hasn't told anyone what's up. I don't even know what she's talking about. I think she's a little into the books if you know what I mean." "Oh. I get it.Sorry about that Mia. You really scared me." "She's sorry for scaring you. You should get home before she really scares you." "Right. Bye Mia." I waved and then said, "Thanks for the save. If I told her I would have looked up and actually scare her." "I thought if I did you might like me. Am I getting closer?" "Not even close." "What do you have to do to get closer?" I didn't say anything. "I'll tell you later. I got to get home until my mom thinks I ran away or something." "Okay." I waved without looking back and rushed home.Luckily my mom was at work or else I would have been grounded for who knows how long. I didn't have homework so I decided to draw. I am an excellent drawer. Of course I've had years of practice. When my mom got home I told her I was going to hunt and I'll be home tomorrow. She said okay then I rushed toward the forest. It was a full moon so I decided to walk to enjoy it while it lasted. Then i heard a noise.
