This is the story of two lovers. They have been together forever, growing up and causing trouble, you know the deal. Been together forever know, all of their little ticks and peeves, been trough everything from fighting off chicken pox to fighting off demons of the underworld and false gods. What? you've never heard of that part? Seems only common to them. Well maybe this won't be so average then. Not to you anyways. Seriously though, were you raised under a rock? Cuz it's okay if you were, I mean we're all friends here.

"Danny! Wake up! You should be opening right now!" Was the first thing Daniel Talrin heard when he woke up. What a great way to wake up huh? Danny didn't even open his eyes just throwing the blanket off kicking Zack square in the forehead with his heel standing up and heading to the bathroom still completely nude since that was how he slept. The 16 yr old boy stood an average 5'10" with long black hair, slender figure, piercing green eyes and a rather soft appearance though obviously he wasn't quite a softie.

Zack fell back from the force of the kick. He sighed a little as he watched Danny head into the bathroom. "Another nightmare huh?" He said to himself before standing up and climbing up the ladder to his own bunk grabbing his backpack. The 16 yr old blond was about 5'8" with a much more muscular build, short hairstyle that spikes up on it's own rather well and deep blue eyes. A rather nice looking boy but if the bunk bed didn't tip you off he isn't Danny's lover. He went down and started rummaging up some breakfast for them deciding on a pair of breakfast bars. Zack's parents owned a rather large home in a small town. Danny had lived with him since before he could remember but he knew the story. He pitied Danny really.

Danny got all showered and dressed. He grabbed his bag and headed downstairs grabbing the breakfast bar out of Zack's hand before the boy bit into it. He smirked a bit. "If you feel like being a jerk just dump water on me next time." He said using a little wind magic to make a swift wind to trip the other boy. It might seem mean but that's how the two had always been with each other.

Zack made a face as his breakfast was snatched and grunted as he met the floor again. "Yeah, yeah, you'd like that too much. It would give you another reason to see Lance." He stuck his tongue out then he bounced up to his feet. "Anyway I got school. You hurry it up and open before you get complaints." He said grabbing the other bar and his bag then heading out.

Danny sighed and shook his head a little. "b*****d." He said softly to himself grabbing his bag and eating the bar on his way out. Around here kids progressed the school as their knowledge did. If they knew the basics they graduated when they graduated. Apparently history eluded the blond other than that he wouldn't have to go to school. Most kids graduated around their 15th birthday.

Danny on the other hand had other responsibilities since when he was little his family died and left him a general store. He only recently got to fully take it on since he was too young to run it himself. Zack's parents had helped with it up till now. However that wasn't where the raven haired boy was going either. He was on his way to see Lance Talis.

Lance was waiting in their normal spot in an open field a ways off the normal path through the town. he was juggling a few orbs of water to pass the time as he waited. He had long blue hair, a rather muscular build, soft blue eyes, standing 6' even, and as usual in a set of black jeans and a fitted blue tank top. Of course he owned plenty of things but a master of water has little to worry about wearing the same clothes over and over and it was his favorite thing to wear. Of course no one complained either since it looked good on him.

Danny came though the brush and smiled a bit at Lance. "you ready you little water sprite?" He mocked with a smirk.

Lance didn't even look over before throwing the orbs turning them into daggers as they flew towards Danny.

Danny smirked using a twister to turn them around mid air sending them right back.

Lance just smiled back flipping grabbing one and throwing it down at Danny. They did this every day they could get some time. They loved to train their powers together and though for their separate reasons they wouldn't admit they only bothered to do this at all to spend some time with each other.

After a while Lance came out on top again pulling a water lance out of the ground from next to Danny's head and smiled. "Try again tomorrow buddy. I've gotta go clean rooms." He laughed a bit waving and heading off. Lance's family owned a not so busy Inn but they stayed afloat well enough.

Danny sighed and dispersed the wind dagger he'd made in his hand that really would have killed Lance roughly a fourth of a second sooner than he would have died. They were quite closely matched but Danny was faster. Of course Lance wouldn't know that. "He's still kinda slow." He said to himself bouncing up to his feet grabbing his stuff and heading over to open his store. When he got there Lance and a few others were already waiting for him to open. "Sorry people. I overslept today." He said with a slightly nervous laugh and opened up for them.

The day went by like any other really. Busy enough to be stressful but not enough to warrant more help. Danny sighed and laid himself on the counter. most people didn't come by around this time so he wasn't worried about anyone disturbing him. He twitched a little as he heard the door open but didn't move. He sniffed a little and smiled knowing who it was. "Hey Kat." He said sitting himself up and looking over at the girl.

Kat was easily Danny's youngest friend about 14. She had long brown hair that came to abut her waist, glowing purple eyes, frail girlish frame, 5' 6" and a little skeletal looking in all honesty. She had a rather strange story. When she was about 4 she appeared in town square in an orb of purple light. she has no memory of anything including her real name and seems quite lost in most things. save for the fact she seems to know quite a bit about magically based things such as advanced magic techniques and powerful artifacts. "Hey Danny, Lance wanted me to pick up some more supplies. I think he's gonna ask you out." she teased with a smirk.

Danny raised an eyebrow at that. "You hit your head or something Kat? Added supplies equals he wants to go out with me how?" He asked genuinely wondering about the girl's mental health.

Kat laughed a bit and pulled out a list handing it to Danny and smiling. "Look at what he wants and tell me he's not setting up for a date." She smiled.

Danny snatched the list and looked at it. "Candles, supplies for his specialty, some regular supplies, dinner ware, some art supplies, and a note at the bottom that says made you look." He says looking it over. That last part was a self-spiting joke but he tossed the list back and started getting everything together.

Kat snatched the list and shook her head a little. "Oh come on Danny you know he likes you and everyone knows you like him. What are you two waiting for?" She said pouting a little.

Danny glared over at Kat. "I do not like him and I know quite clearly that he doesn't like me thank you very much. So stop making up things to make me nervous already. you're worse than Zack." He growled.

Kat shook her head and rolled her eyes. "Oh please, if there's anyone here you can't lie to it's me and you know it Danny." She hopped up on the counter as she watched Danny work. "I don't get why you don't think he's as into you as you are into him." she said more to herself than anything really.

Danny just shook his head and finished getting things together. "Because you read too much into things. Lance is entertaining Nokra tonight so he's cooking, they had a couple the other day so they need more candles, they are tired of the old dinnerware, he's probably doing a portrait or something for Nokra and the rest is normal stuff so just stop acting like it's some big sign he wants to go out with me and get real." he growled setting everything on the counter next to Kat.

Kat sighed and hopped down off the counter handing over the payment. "Even though Nokra hasn't been seen in days and the last couple they had was last month and Mrs. Talis is still finishing rotating out the dinnerware from her old set and this isn't a full set. Also as good as he is at it Lance hates cooking." She shook her head and grabbed everything. "Seriously Danny I don't know how you can be so dense. The candles aren't even plain ones they are your favorite scent. French vanilla and Lance can barely stay in the same room with the stuff." she shook her head and just left.

Danny sighed a little and shook his head. "Then why didn't he invite me? That and why wouldn't he just get the stuff in separate trips so I wouldn't notice it or use another store? Kat you really are dense." He said to himself as he went into the back to start re-socking everything for lack of anything better to do.

Danny heard someone come in and took a sniff but whoever it was they were covered in the scent of roses so he didn't know who they were. He walked back but before he came back out they left. He shook his head a little. He sniffed a little then looked over at the counter. There was a card sitting there. "You have got to be kidding me." He snatched it up and looked at it. "Is he ******** with me or what?" He read it and blushed deeply. "He's going to die." He growled out.

Kat had just finished putting everything away and came out just as Danny walked into the inn. "Hey Danny, don't you still have...." She stopped as she realized Danny was paying no attention as he headed upstairs to Lance's room. "What is with those two?" she said to herself.

Danny stomped his way up the stairs and flung the door open slamming it behind himself. "Lance!" He shouted.

In the kitchen Mrs. Talis flinched at the slam and shout. "What did that boy do this time?" She sighed and finished up a few things before heading up.

Lance was in his room already and flinched as well. "Danny, what's wrong?" He asked kinda afraid to find out.

Danny stomped his way over to Lance grabbing him by his shirt and slamming him against the wall. "Explain this!" He said holding the card up in front of him. "What the hell gives you that kind of nerve!?" He growled.

Lance looked at it and sighed a little. "I invited you over to hang out a while Danny. What's so bad about that?"

Danny shook his head. "Kat." he said simply not wanting to yell anymore since his throat was starting to hurt already.

Lance sighed. "A simple no is enough then don't you think?" He said disenhearted.

Danny shook his head and dropped Lance back on the floor. "With ... with what you.... did to me... I should kill you right now." He said just turning around and heading to leave.

Lance sighed and shook his head. "Thoughts change you know and when you came to me you just hit me out of nowhere with it." He said softly.

Danny looked back and shook his head. "You can say that all you want. It doesn't change what you did." he said plainly.

Lance shook his head a little. "Danny I know I hurt you but give me some credit. It was 3 years ago. I even had a girlfriend at the time. I didn't know what to think about something like that and.... what was i supposed to do?" He said softly.

Danny walked right up to Lance. "There's a difference between not knowing how to react and deciding to act like the biggest a*****e on the planet. You could have just been easy about it but no you decided to stab me in the heart and twist the knife a few times. You called me things I'd never think you'd say to anyone." He said sternly.

Lance sighed and nodded a bit. "I know and I'm sorry Danny. I was being stupid and I wish I could take those words back but I can't. You know that's not what I think now and I want to try to make it up to you." He moved closer and gently wrapped himself around Danny.

Danny sighed a little and after a moment he relaxed into Lance a bit. "What took you so long then?" He asked a bit tiredly.

Lance smiled and nuzzled his face in Danny's neck a little. "I wanted to skip this. I hate it when you're angry with me. you yell, scream, wear yourself out and later you cry." He said softly.

Danny sighed a little. "You're just a coward." He said in a half hearted attempt to throw it back at Lance.

Lance just smiled and kissed Danny's cheek. "I am, I'm afraid of hurting you and making you cry. You really scared me when you left you know. No one thought you'd ever wake up." He said softly.

Danny laughed a little. "I could have astral projected myself for another month or two if I wanted." He said with a slight smile. "When did you find out I cry after yelling at you anyway?" He asked seriously wondering about that.

Lance sighed a little. "You were gone for half a year. No one thought you were that strong. We all thought you either weren't or didn't want to come back." He smiled a bit at the question. "Water sight Danny, I've always known. I hated seeing it every time too. I hate it when you cry. Especially when it's because of me."He held Danny a bit tighter.

Danny sighed and gently hugged back. "You're the only one who makes me cry Lance." He said softly.

Lance nodded a bit. "I know, I just hope you never cry again. I always cry when you do. Just not always at the same time." He said softly.

It was that moment that Mrs. Talis walked in and looked over at the two. She stopped cold a moment and then just shut the door and walked away. "About bloody time. I swear that boy can battle a Kraken with a broken arm but he takes three years to appologize to his crush? What goes on in that boy's head?" He muttered to herself and headed downstairs.

Danny smiled a bit. He'd heard the door and Lance's mother. It was true though Lance had battled a Kraken with a broken arm all by himself once. Course no one had ever been told that Danny was the one who finished it off with a rockslide from carving up the cave with his wind magic.
