A Bean's Random Thoughts on The Legend of Zelda
First of all, here are the games in the Zelda series that I have played:
Ocarina of Time (N64)
Majora's Mask (N64)
Wind Waker (GC)
Twilight Princess (GC)
~~~~~
Now, playing these games, I've noticed something about the main character. Link is A) Always dressed in green B) Blonde and C) Has no visible parents (though, there has been a grandparent). Now, one has to wonder, since these are various incarnations throughout time and space... what must Ganon think? I mean, he keeps escaping imprisonment throughout the ages only to be beaten EVERY TIME by this little blonde dude in a green suit. And they're different people. Eventually anyone would think,"Now wait just a moment. WTF?!" How would YOU feel if you escaped to freedom over progressive centuries, or whatever, only to be beaten by what seems to be the same dude. Not only that, but this dude is smaller and skinnier than you are. That has to be frustrating.
Also, there's always a blonde princess called Zelda. I mean, if you kept running into the same bratty princess every time you escaped prison, wouldn't you be just a little pissed?
That being said, I know that video games don't always follow a logical time progression and whatnot. I just think it's amusing that the only thing that changes about the characters, for the most part, is Link's origin.
To be honest, the Legend of Zelda games are my favorites. I love me some goblin slaying and shiznit like that. Plus other stuff, of course. The graphics are pretty neat and it's just a well put together bunch of games.
