DETAILED PERSONALITY

  • Rima is very cheery, unusually so. He often focuses on the positives of a situation, even if the negatives far outweigh them.
  • He gets along well with almost anybody, and brushes off verbal abuse as if it were nothing.
  • He doesn't tolerate DEBBIE DOWNERS, and will probably end up annoying the hell out of somebody until they TURN THAT FROWN UPSIDE DOWN!
  • He likes riddles and puzzles. He also rarely feels like giving a straight answer to any question asked of him, and will usually give very odd, roundabout answers.
  • Highly idealistic, Rima believes that someday, everybody will live in a big, bright future, free of disease and war and poverty! And he believes that Minerva is helping to accomplish that goal quicker! He firmly believes in them, and believes the small sacrifices made now, will in the end, benefit the world...
  • ... with this comes a very feeble grasp of ethics. Rima is more than willing to push aside silly moral dilemmas because he trusts that, in the end, the world will be perfect because of his research and tests-- so why worry so much about progress-hindering things like whether it's truly right or wrong to dissect a living human being without anesthetic?

RIMA'S PAST

  • His mother was a surgeon and he himself was a rather bright kid with an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He often got into his mother’s manuals and books despite barely being able to understand any of them, and pretty much grew up surrounding himself with the ‘how-to’s of surgery. He hoped to follow in his mother's footsteps, because he always dreamed of being able to help people, and being a surgeon would definitely help him accomplish that goal.
  • At the age of 11, his father died of lung complications. Despite this, he never shed a single tear, or even flashed a frown. He laughed and smiled while his mother and sister mourned-- and he didn’t understand why he was the only one After all, if his dad was suffering while he was alive, then it was better that he was free from that in death, right?
  • It was from here that what was left of his family began to notice that he was… very happy. Uncannily so. They never saw him upset, or angry, or depressed. He was always looking on the bright side, always smiling. Nothing seemed to faze him. When faced with a bad situation, he did everything he could to fix it— but if his attempts failed, he could rationalize it to make it seem better than it was, and go about his life as if nothing was weighing him down. It went beyond simple optimism, and he was sent to at least one therapist, but in the end, what were they supposed to do about somebody who was ‘too happy?’ They eventually just tried to accept it, and when he left to be on his own, they stopped worrying about it.
  • Rima got a job as a surgeon's apprentice at Minerva while in college, meeting (and coming to idolize) the stoic Ren. When he accidentally caught her cutting a body up in the back, though, he learned of the not-so-nice stuff going down there-- but he gladly involved himself in it, because he figured the experiments would help the world one day, and he wanted to be a part of that!

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Admires Ren's work ethic and sees her as a strong, confident person! Usually works with her for tasks that require two people.
  • Thinks Elliott is a swell guy, and talks to him often.
  • Constantly tries to give Lucas encouraging pep talks.
  • Taught Aloise Escher how to pick locks for fun. He was moved to a difference sector because of it, and the two have not seen one another since.
  • Puts up with Gabriel's insults very well, and doesn't hold any negative feelings towards him for them.

OTHER s**t

  • It's rumoured he bats for the other team, though when asked, he just gives weird answers, so people have stopped trying.
  • Loves strawberries and strawberry flavoured things.
  • He can solve a Rubix Cube in the minimum amount of moves.
  • He has a dog.
