Knee Injury of a Life Time: Part II
Part II to the true story of my horrible injury. This day filled my mind with all the regrets I would have throughout the summer.

Tuesday, June 9, 2009:

My day started off with a simple doctor's visit to check on my knee a little bit more. She hypothesized that, along with my small fracture, I may have dislocated my right knee. At first, I said, "That's it? That should heal fast..." I didn't understand how severe a dislocation could be.

The doctor told my father and I to schedule an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. When I heard "surgeon", I got a little worried. I tried calming myself down by telling myself that it only meant he was professional and it didn't mean that I would actually need surgery.

Telling myself that didn't really work. I was shaking. I thought to myself, "If anyone asks, I'll ask 'Why is it so cold in hospitals?'" I didn't want to be called a wimp, and people always think I over-think things, which is probably true.

From the drive home to the rest of the night, I looked down at my knee, which was still in it's brace. I was thinking the exact same thing as I was a week ago. "Why am I always getting injured? On the last week of school too..."

Seriously, I was looking for a nice summer and I had so many plans.

If I didn't get injured on the last week of school, I could have went to Summer League Basketball at my school again.

If I didn't get injured on the last week of school, I could have went to that college invitation that I was so honored to receive.

If I didn't get injured on the last week of school, I could have stayed on the Big Island with my cousins, and swam at the beach, and play basketball on their own little court.

I lost so much because I got injured on the last week of school...

That's it for Part II. It was a lot shorter, but I'm sure anyone who read Part I is pretty glad. Stay tuned for Part III, which will be released tomorrow! mrgreen
